Our mission is to blend cutting‑edge technology with human‑centric design, ensuring that every component not only meets rigorous safety and performance standards but also elevates the driving experience.

In an era where electrification, connectivity, and autonomous driving are reshaping the industry, the demand for sophisticated mechatronic solutions—especially in roof systems and interior components—has never been higher. brighthush is leading the charge by developing lightweight, energy‑efficient, and highly reliable systems that integrate seamlessly with advanced infotainment, sensor arrays, and structural elements. As part of our commitment to innovation, we partner with Tier 1 suppliers, OEMs, and research institutions to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Mechatronics Design & Release Engineer who will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of roof‑system components and interior modules. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including design, validation, manufacturing, and supply chain—to ensure that every part is engineered for performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. Your expertise will directly influence the quality, safety, and market readiness of brighthush’s next‑generation vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Component Design & Development – Lead the conceptualization, CAD modeling, and prototyping of roof‑system components such as power hatches, sunroofs, and active damping mechanisms.
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Cost Optimization – Apply DFM principles to reduce weight, lower material costs, and streamline assembly processes.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management – Maintain accurate PBOM and eBOM data in Teamcenter, ensuring traceability and compliance with IATF 16949.
  • Verification & Validation – Develop and execute Design Verification Plans (DVP&R), coordinate testing with PDO and Sciences teams, and analyze results to drive design improvements.
  • Change Management – Own the change request process, evaluate impact on cost, schedule, and quality, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Prototype & Production Build Support – Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to resolve tooling, assembly, and production issues, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to volume.
  • Issue & Root‑Cause Analysis – Investigate field warranty cases, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in partnership with service teams.
  • Supplier Collaboration – Work closely with Tier 1 suppliers to align on electrical development timelines, deliverables, and quality expectations.
  • Technical Documentation & Reporting – Produce clear, concise technical reports, design briefs, and status updates for management and cross‑functional teams.
  • Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities for process enhancements, tooling upgrades, and design simplification to accelerate time‑to‑market.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in reviewing, validating, and releasing automotive mechatronic components, with a focus on roof systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as NX or CATIA V5, and experience managing models in Teamcenter.
  • Solid understanding of mechatronic subsystems: manual park release, active damping air suspension, switches, sensors, lighting, seats, rear‑view mirrors, power hatches, liftgates, sunroofs, and power tops.
  • Knowledge of electrical diagrams, software integration, and durability/thermal testing of mechatronic components.
  • Experience with infotainment, connectivity, and embedded systems is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of DFM, DFMEA, DVP&R, PBOM, and eBOM concepts.
  • Intermediate‑advanced English proficiency (B2–C1) for technical documentation and international collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to Tier 1 supplier environments and OEM development cycles.
  • Familiarity with style‑freeze processes, theme evaluation, and design reviews.
  • In‑plant experience with tool tryouts, assembly, and program launch activities.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards, especially IATF 16949.
  • Experience in root‑cause analysis and field warranty support.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Expertise – Advanced knowledge of mechatronics, electrical systems, and mechanical design.
  • Analytical Thinking – Ability to dissect complex problems, perform root‑cause analysis, and propose data‑driven solutions.
  • Project Management – Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent tasks, meeting deadlines, and coordinating cross‑functional teams.
  • Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration – Strong teamwork orientation, comfortable working in a matrixed environment with suppliers, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Adaptability – Comfortable navigating a fast‑paced, evolving product development landscape.
  • Continuous Learning – Passion for staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
