Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership – Own the end‑to‑end design and delivery of chat‑team projects, setting architectural direction and ensuring alignment with business goals.
• System Design & Architecture – Translate product requirements into simple, maintainable system designs that balance performance, reliability, and cost.
• Hands‑on Development – Write production‑grade Python code, participate in code reviews, and maintain a high bar for quality, test coverage, and documentation.
• Abstraction & Simplification – Create clear, reusable abstractions that reduce complexity without over‑engineering.
• Mentorship & Coaching – Guide junior engineers through design decisions, code reviews, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Production Reliability – Diagnose and resolve issues across application code, agent workflows, prompts, models, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
• Observability & Optimization – Enhance system observability, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency through instrumentation, monitoring, and proactive tuning.
• AI‑Native Innovation – Champion the adoption of coding agents throughout the development lifecycle, improving productivity and code quality.

Essential Qualifications

• 4–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend or full‑stack development.
• Proficiency in Python: idiomatic, typed, testable, and maintainable production code.
• Solid programming fundamentals and a track record of sound engineering judgment.
• Experience designing, delivering, and operating production systems at scale.
• Expertise in API design, data modeling, concurrency, error handling, and observability.
• Hands‑on experience building LLM or agentic applications (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain, or comparable frameworks).
• Strong knowledge of automated testing (pytest, unittest) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers and elevate team quality.
• Comfort taking ownership, identifying opportunities, and driving improvements across a team.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with agentic coding workflows: planning, implementation, testing, debugging, and code review using AI coding assistants.
• Proficiency in designing conversation state, context management, and multi‑step execution flows.
• Familiarity with model APIs, structured outputs, retrieval, grounding, and streaming responses.
• Hands‑on use of observability platforms such as Langfuse, LangSmith, or similar.
• Knowledge of cost‑management strategies for production LLM systems.
• Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Background in security best practices for AI systems.

Agentic Coding Expertise

As a power user of coding agents, you’ll:

• Leverage agents across exploration, planning, implementation, testing, debugging, and review.
• Provide agents with precise context, constraints, and verification steps.
• Critically evaluate generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and unnecessary complexity.
