About the Managed AI Program

The Managed AI program is brighthush’s flagship offering for organizations that want to embed AI into their day‑to‑day operations. We manage their AI platforms, advise leadership on strategy and governance, and build custom agents, software, and integrations tailored to each client’s unique workflows. Our clients span hedge funds, medical device manufacturers, industrial suppliers, and more, each presenting fresh challenges and opportunities for innovation.

Role Overview

As a Customer Deployment Engineer, you will be the architect and builder behind the AI agents that run in our clients’ environments. From the initial idea to a fully operational agent, you will own scoping, development, deployment, and handover, working closely with client teams and their IT departments. You will write connectors into Microsoft 365 and line‑of‑business systems, build agents on Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot, and ship them under the client’s own security and governance controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opportunity Assessment: Join vCAIO‑led assessments to identify workflows where data is siloed across systems and is not being leveraged effectively.
  • Scope Definition: Define the systems involved, actions to be taken, target user group, success metrics, and baseline measurements. Communicate clearly when a bottleneck lies outside the client’s control.
  • Agent & Connector Development: Build AI agents and connectors (Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, client APIs, MCP servers) that meet the specific needs of each engagement.
  • Secure Deployment: Deploy agents into client tenants with least‑privilege access, register them in the governance register, and produce documentation that satisfies auditors and due‑diligence teams.
  • Performance Measurement: Track agent performance against baseline metrics, train end‑users, and transition the agent to ongoing maintenance under the platform.
  • Reusability & Knowledge Transfer: Capture successful patterns, connectors, skills, evaluations, and templates for reuse in future engagements.

A Typical Engagement Timeline

  • Month 1: Connect to the client’s platform, conduct a shadow AI session, and establish a baseline by reviewing tenant inventory and required data sources.
  • Month 2: Participate in a vCAIO‑led opportunity assessment, score workflows, capture baseline data, and write a formal scope document.
  • Month 3: Build the first agent, deploy it to a named user group, measure performance, and hand it over to the client.
  • Month 4+: Scope, build, and deploy additional agents, maintain live agents, and iterate on the solution.

Example Projects

  • Medical Device Manufacturer – Site Activation Tracker: Reads Teams channels, SharePoint account files, Outlook threads, and a commercial tracker to monitor new customer sites through contracting, training, and first use. Flags stalled sites and assigns owners, providing the commercial team with a single view of all active sites.
  • Hedge Fund – Investor DDQ Responder: Scans past DDQs, policies, and compliance libraries to draft answers to new questionnaires, delivering a first draft in hours instead of weeks of research.
  • Industrial Manufacturer – Supplier Quality Monitor: Parses supplier certificates, ERP inspection results, and non‑conformance reports to flag expiring certifications and repeat defects, generating corrective action requests with an audit trail.

Essential Qualifications

  • 4+ years of engineering experience, including client‑facing roles.
  • Hands‑on experience building or shipping LLM‑powered agents and an understanding of how model behavior shapes product experience.
  • Proficiency in production‑grade coding with TypeScript, Python, or a comparable stack.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 as a data source: Graph API, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and tenant app permissions and consent.
  • Strong business acumen: run scoping sessions with business leaders, confidently say no to weak use cases, and produce a scope that a CFO will sign.
  • Results‑oriented mindset: deliver a working agent to 10 users in three weeks rather than a perfect solution to none in three months.
  • Ownership and security mindset: take extreme ownership of problems and delivery, and handle client data with a security‑first approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in forward‑deployed, solutions, or sales engineering roles at a SaaS, AI, or consulting company.
  • Built connectors, servers, or skills on MCP for Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot.
  • Experience with data‑driven AI governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Background in building AI solutions for regulated industries (healthcare, finance, manufacturing).

  • Technical Architecture & Integration
  • AI & LLM Fundamentals
  • API Design & Development
  • Security & Compliance (Least‑Privilege, Data Governance)
  • Project Management & Agile Delivery

  • Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking
