Why This Role Matters

The global push toward intelligent, low‑carbon infrastructure places HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS) at the heart of the transition. As a Senior Customer Engineering Manager, you will be the bridge between complex engineering solutions and tangible business value. Your leadership will shape how our clients deploy, operate, and evolve their HVAC/BAS portfolios, directly influencing the next generation of intelligent buildings. You will become the trusted advisor who translates cutting‑edge technology into measurable ROI, driving both customer success and brighthush’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead End‑to‑End Deployments

  • Own the full lifecycle of HVAC/BAS projects—from initial scoping and design through commissioning, testing, and handover—ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Develop detailed project plans, resource schedules, and risk mitigation strategies that align with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with field teams, contractors, and vendors to guarantee seamless integration of hardware, software, and network components.
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and integrating best practices into future deployments.
  • Champion the adoption of Agile and Lean principles to accelerate delivery and reduce waste.

Coordinate Cross‑Functional Teams

  • Partner with sales, product, engineering, and customer success to align project objectives, manage resource allocation, and mitigate risks.
  • Facilitate regular syncs, status updates, and decision‑making sessions that keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project phases.
  • Act as the single point of escalation for complex technical or programmatic issues, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Leverage collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Teams) to streamline communication and documentation.

Guide Customers Through Digital Transformation

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor, translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights that drive operational excellence and measurable ROI.
  • Design and deliver workshops, training sessions, and best‑practice guides that empower client teams to fully leverage our platform.
  • Act as a trusted partner in the client’s journey toward digital maturity, ensuring that technology adoption aligns with business strategy.
  • Develop customized roadmaps that outline phased adoption, integration milestones, and performance targets.
  • Provide post‑implementation support and coaching to ensure long‑term success and continuous value realization.

Champion Continuous Commissioning

  • Implement best practices for ongoing performance monitoring, fault detection, and predictive maintenance to sustain optimal building performance and extend equipment life.
  • Develop and refine commissioning protocols that integrate with our AI platform’s real‑time analytics engine.
  • Lead post‑deployment reviews that capture lessons learned and inform future project improvements.
  • Advocate for the adoption of continuous commissioning tools across the organization to standardize processes.
  • Collaborate with data science teams to refine algorithms that predict equipment failures and recommend proactive actions.

Drive Measurement & Verification

  • Lead rigorous data collection and analysis to quantify energy savings, validate system performance, and support sustainability reporting for LEED, WELL, and ENERGY STAR certifications.
  • Collaborate with sustainability consultants to ensure that measurement methodologies meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive M&V reports that articulate value to stakeholders and inform strategic decisions.
  • Maintain a repository of M&V templates and best‑practice guidelines for internal use.
  • Use data storytelling techniques to communicate complex findings in a clear, compelling manner.

Mentor and Develop Team Members

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and career guidance to junior engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of high performance, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
  • Identify skill gaps and design targeted development plans that align with both individual aspirations and organizational needs.
  • Champion a mentorship culture that encourages cross‑functional learning and collaboration.
  • Lead regular knowledge‑sharing sessions and internal tech talks to keep the team at the forefront of emerging trends.
  • Encourage participation in industry conferences, webinars, and hackathons to broaden expertise.

Contribute to Product Roadmap

  • Gather field insights and customer feedback to inform feature enhancements and new capabilities in our AI platform, ensuring our solutions stay ahead of market demands.
  • Work closely with product managers to translate technical requirements into actionable user stories.
  • Advocate for customer‑centric design principles that enhance usability and value.
  • Participate in beta testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate new releases.
  • Provide input on pricing, packaging, and go‑to‑market strategies based on customer needs.

Ensure Compliance and Quality Standards

  • Maintain adherence to industry regulations, safety protocols, and internal quality assurance processes, safeguarding both client and company reputation.
  • Lead audit preparations and respond to regulatory inquiries with confidence and precision.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives that elevate quality and compliance across all projects.
  • Stay current on evolving standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes.
  • Document and disseminate compliance best practices to the broader engineering community.
