Key Responsibilities
As the first customer marketer at brighthush, you will own the end‑to‑end customer marketing strategy and execute it with a builder‑and‑doer mindset. Your role spans the entire customer lifecycle, from onboarding to expansion, and you will collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Campaigns, and Demand Generation.
1. Drive Expansion Pipeline
- Self‑Serve to Enterprise Upsell: Own the upgrade motion, scaling the pilot into a continuous, data‑driven program that nurtures self‑serve customers toward enterprise plans.
- Enterprise Expansion Programs: Design one‑to‑many expansion initiatives in partnership with Expansion Sales, including cross‑sell, upsell, targeted nurtures, and sales‑ready offers.
- Campaign Adaptation: Work with Campaigns to tailor major launches for existing customers, ensuring they receive the right story at the right moment.
- Sales Enablement: Provide Expansion Sales with precise timing, messaging, and assets to act on signals generated by your programs.
- EMEA Localization: Allocate ~15% of your effort to localize expansion and lifecycle programs for EMEA customers, adapting messaging, timing, channels, and events.
2. Fuel Adoption with Customer Success & Product Marketing
- Lifecycle Programs: Build onboarding and feature‑adoption email sequences, customer webinars, and launch communications that help customers realize value quickly.
- Feature‑Launch Campaigns: Collaborate with Product Marketing to translate new features into customer‑centric campaigns that drive usage.
- Journey Design: Create and implement lifecycle journeys in our marketing automation platform, working with Marketing Ops on complex builds and attribution.
- Data Foundation: Partner with Marketing Ops and Customer Success to develop segments and scoring models that determine who receives which program and when.
3. Build Our Advocacy Engine
- Advocacy Program: Launch and manage a customer advocacy program that identifies speakers for events, case studies, references, and referrals.
- Case Studies & Stories: Produce compelling customer case studies that showcase real‑world impact.
- Review Program: Drive a structured review program on platforms such as G2 to strengthen our competitive positioning.
4. Run Customer Events & Advisory Board
- Customer Advisory Board: Establish and run a board that brings customer insights into product, messaging, and strategy.
- Events & User Groups: Plan and execute customer‑focused events, user groups, and community gatherings that deepen engagement.
Success Metrics
- Expansion Pipeline: Pipeline sourced and influenced by your programs, tracked separately for self‑serve upgrades and enterprise expansion.
- Adoption Impact: Engagement with adoption programs and subsequent feature activation.
- Advocacy: Number of published case studies, availability of customers for speaking engagements, and volume/ratings of reviews.
