Role Overview
As a Senior Customer Solutions Engineer at brighthush, you will be the linchpin that transforms a new merchant’s legacy data into a fully operational, cloud‑native experience. Your work will directly influence our growth trajectory: every successful data migration enables a new location to go live on our platform, unlocking revenue potential for the merchant and expanding our market reach.
You will partner closely with the SaaS Implementation Manager to understand each client’s unique data landscape, design custom extraction and transformation pipelines, and, when necessary, develop bespoke features that meet their “must‑have” requirements before launch. Beyond coding, you will shape product decisions, influence feature roadmaps, and help cultivate a culture of excellence across engineering, product, and customer success teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Execute Data Migration Pipelines: Build robust, automated workflows that move client data—customers, appointments, transactions—from legacy systems into brighthush’s database, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Develop Web Scrapers & Extractors: Create scripts that accurately harvest data from a variety of sources, including legacy ERP systems, spreadsheets, and third‑party APIs, ensuring correct mapping to target database fields.
- Analyze Legacy Systems: Investigate existing software products to determine the most efficient extraction strategy, whether it’s a one‑time export, real‑time sync, or asynchronous batch processing.
- Implement Real‑Time & Asynchronous Connections: Decide when brighthush should act as the master system and when it should integrate as a client, using APIs, webhooks, or message queues to maintain data consistency.
- Build Custom Features: Lead or support the development of client‑specific functionality that is critical for their go‑live readiness, such as custom reporting dashboards or integration adapters.
- Validate & Reconcile Data: Write field‑level transformation and validation logic, generate reconciliation reports, and ensure data integrity at every stage of the migration process.
- Handle Edge Cases & Failures: Design retry mechanisms for rate limits, HTTP errors, and other failure scenarios; implement comprehensive logging and alerting to keep stakeholders informed.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and customer success engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to help elevate the skill set of the engineering team.
- Document Processes: Create clear, maintainable documentation for migration workflows, API contracts, and troubleshooting guides.
