About brighthush

brighthush is the world’s leading construction‑centric enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, redefining how construction firms manage finance, operations, and project delivery. By weaving together finance, procurement, project management, and analytics into a single, real‑time data engine, we empower thousands of operating companies to execute every transaction—from the first purchase order to the final close of a multi‑million‑dollar project—without the friction of legacy systems.

Our mission is simple: make construction finance transparent, compliant, and scalable. We do this by building a platform that is as agile as the projects it supports, and as robust as the financial controls that protect our customers’ bottom line. brighthush thrives on a culture of relentless curiosity, cross‑functional collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We hire people who are not only experts in their domain but also passionate about solving complex problems, challenging the status quo, and driving measurable impact for our customers.

As a remote‑first organization, we value autonomy, transparency, and a shared sense of purpose. Whether you’re in New York, Nairobi, or New Delhi, you’ll be part of a global team of innovators who work together to deliver world‑class solutions that transform the construction industry.

Why This Role Matters

In construction, the intersection of finance and operations is where value is created and risks are mitigated. As the Senior ERP Product Owner & Customer Support Lead, you will be the steward of our core financial and operational processes across COINS and all connected systems. Your expertise will help our customers:

  • Achieve a reliable eight‑day close cycle that meets regulatory and internal audit requirements.
  • Maintain segregation‑of‑duties and SOX‑ready controls across all financial modules.
  • Reduce manual workarounds and spreadsheet dependency, freeing finance teams for strategic analysis.
  • Adopt standardized processes that scale across multiple entities, ensuring consistency and compliance.

By driving these outcomes, you will directly contribute to the financial health and operational efficiency of thousands of construction firms worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Process Ownership

  • Own the operations and finance product roadmap, backlog, and functional outcomes for COINS and all integrated modules.
  • Define and enforce standardized business processes and configurations across brighthush, while clearly delineating enterprise and Operating Company responsibilities.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements, configuration decisions, controls, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize defects and enhancement requests based on business value, risk, scalability, and alignment with brighthush standards.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams—Finance, Operations, Systems, Data, Integration, and third‑party partners—to deliver end‑to‑end solutions and drive issues to verified resolution.
  • Maintain a living product vision document that captures market trends, customer feedback, and emerging regulatory requirements.

Finance & Construction Accounting

  • Own and continuously improve processes for general ledger, chart of accounts, financial dimensions, AP, AR, collections, cash application, billing, revenue recognition, job costing, cash management, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, financial close, reporting, and audit support.
  • Lead construction‑specific processes: percentage‑of‑completion accounting, work in progress, cost‑to‑complete forecasting, overbilling/underbilling, retainage, schedule‑of‑values billing, change orders, committed costs, subcontractor accounting, labor and burden allocation, and project profitability reporting.
  • Ensure reconciliation of contracts, budgets, commitments, actuals, forecasts, billings, collections, and recognized revenue at the project level.
  • Guarantee that transactions originating in projects, service, purchasing, inventory, payroll, and connected systems are accurately reflected in job cost, WIP, and the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Analytics team to develop dashboards that provide real‑time insights into cash flow, profitability, and compliance metrics.

Operations & Configuration

  • Own procurement processes: purchase orders, requisitions, approvals, receiving, three‑way matching, inventory and warehouse transactions, material transfers, job‑issued inventory, subcontractor commitments, project setup, cost codes, operational master data, equipment‑related financial transactions, reporting, and exception management.
  • Collaborate with Service and Payroll Product Owners to ensure operational activity flows completely and accurately into job cost, payroll, billing, and the general ledger.
  • Maintain functional configuration, decision logs, process maps, operating procedures, and configuration documentation.
  • Assess configuration changes for downstream impacts on reporting, integrations, security, controls, and other COINS modules.
  • Prioritize standard, reusable configuration over customization, and uphold enterprise standards for the chart of accounts, cost codes, financial dimensions, approval workflows, transaction types, and master data.
  • Ensure all changes follow brighthush’s software development lifecycle, testing, approval, and release‑management requirements.

Implementation & Financial Close

  • Manage and continuously improve the close plan, including subledger cutoffs, job‑cost validation, WIP preparation, project‑manager review, reconciliations, journal entries, financial‑statement review, issue resolution, and approval.
  • Identify blockers early, assign corrective actions, and remain accountable until the eight‑day close requirement is achieved.
  • Develop and execute end‑to‑end functional tests, validating opening balances, master data, open transactions, control totals, record counts, and reconciliation results.
  • Support evidence‑based go/no‑go decisions and establish blackout, rollback, reconciliation, and exception‑handling procedures.
  • Validate the first billing, AP, purchasing, bank‑reconciliation, WIP, and close cycles after go‑live, then transition the Operating Company into sustainable support without losing open issues or decisions.

Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as the functional support owner for operations and finance incidents and questions.
  • Prioritize requests based on severity, financial and operational impact, and the number of affected users or Operating Companies, focusing on production, payroll, billing, cash, purchasing, and close issues.
  • Diagnose root causes across process, configuration, security, data, integrations, training, and user execution. Engage technical or vendor resources as needed while retaining ownership of the outcome.
  • Confirm each solution is tested, implemented, communicated, and operating successfully before closure.
  • Analyze ticket trends, process performance, reconciliations, control exceptions, and user feedback to eliminate recurring issues and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in ERP product ownership, preferably within construction or capital‑intensive industries.
  • Deep knowledge of construction accounting principles, including percentage‑of‑completion, retainage, and schedule‑of‑values billing.
  • Proven track record of managing end‑to‑end product lifecycles, from requirements gathering to go‑live and post‑implementation support.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications.
  • Experience with COINS or comparable ERP platforms and a solid understanding of financial modules such as general ledger, AP/AR, and job costing.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical details to non‑technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified ERP Product Owner or similar professional certification.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including backlog grooming and sprint planning.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and audit processes in a construction context.
  • Background in data analytics or business intelligence, with proficiency in reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience working with remote or distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Experience with cloud‑based ERP deployments and integration patterns.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic thinking with a focus on long‑term product vision and short‑term execution.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving abilities, with a methodical approach to root‑cause analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder management, able to build trust and influence without direct authority.
  • Adaptability to fast‑changing environments and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to quality, with a meticulous eye for detail in configuration and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise documentation.
