Job Title: Senior SAS Data Integration & Management Consultant (State & Local Government) Location: 100% Remote (Must reside in the Continental US) Work Authorization: US Citizen or Green Card holder only Engagement Type: Contract (6 Months / 960 Hours, strong likelihood of long-term extension)
Overview
We are seeking three Senior SAS Data Integration and Data Management Consultants to support an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and data mart implementation for a State & Local government healthcare client. This role focuses on architecting, optimizing, and maintaining production-grade ETL pipelines processing terabyte-scale healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities
ETL & Data Warehousing: Design, develop, test, and maintain SAS-based ETL processes, source-to-target mappings (STTM), and dedicated healthcare data marts. Code & Pipeline Optimization: Profile and tune SAS and SQL logic to maximize performance across tens of millions of records, reducing I/O, memory, and database overhead. Orchestration & Support: Build, monitor, schedule, and troubleshoot automated job flows inside SAS Viya; perform root-cause analysis on batch failures. Collaboration & Quality: Partner with client and data architecture teams under Agile/SDLC workflows, enforcing strict data validation and PHI/HIPAA data quality checks. Mandatory Qualifications Citizenship/Residency: US Citizen or Green Card holder, physically residing in the Continental US (CONUS). Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional SAS programming and enterprise ETL development. Core SAS Stack: Deep hands-on proficiency in Base SAS, DATA step processing, SAS Macro facility, arrays, PROC SQL, and SQL Pass-Through. Platform: Direct experience building, running, and troubleshooting jobs in SAS Viya. Architecture: Strong background in relational modeling, enterprise data warehousing (EDW), and data profiling/validation. Preferred Skills Relational database experience with Oracle (query optimization, explain plans). Domain knowledge in Medicaid, Medicare, or government healthcare claims/eligibility data.
