Remote Position

Senior Software Architect

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

1C Platform is a research-led technology company focused on turning complex ideas into precise, high-performance software solutions. By combining scientific rigor with advanced engineering capabilities, the company builds enterprise-grade technologies that enhance efficiency, reliability, and innovation across multi-tenant cloud environments and high-throughput industries. Guided by the foundational principle of “Precision in Every Process,” 1C Platform approaches each technical challenge with clear objectives, disciplined execution, and a long-term architectural vision. The company operates at the intersection of deep-tech research and commercial software delivery, ensuring that every product is meticulously crafted to solve modern computational bottlenecks while remaining modular enough to adapt to future market needs. Role Description The Senior Software Architect is a full-time, remote role responsible for defining, evolving, and governing the overall architecture of 1C Platform’s complex software ecosystems and core services. This strategic role requires a visionary engineer who balances high-level systemic design with practical execution, ensuring that all platforms are inherently scalable, secure, fault-tolerant, and performant. As a primary technical leader, you will select appropriate technologies, model complex domain boundaries, and establish company-wide architectural standards. You will serve as the bridge between product strategy and engineering execution, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Directors of Engineering, and cross-functional teams to translate ambitious business requirements into concrete, resilient technical roadmaps. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Architectural Blueprinting: Design and maintain comprehensive system architectures, data models, and API boundaries using modern distributed systems and cloud-native patterns. Technical Governance: Author, update, and enforce technical RFCs (Requests for Comments), architectural blueprints, and coding best practices across global engineering squads. Active Mentorship & Reviews: Conduct deep-dive design and code reviews, ensuring engineering teams align with established architectural guardrails while actively mentoring senior developers. Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, prioritize, and systematically resolve technical debt, architectural bottlenecks, and systemic security risks. Hands-on Prototyping: Build proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and architectural spikes to validate new technology stacks, framework migrations, or performance optimizations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in daily standups, technical alignment syncs, and product discovery sessions to provide accurate feasibility assessments and technical scoping. Telemetry & Optimization: Analyze system telemetry, stress-test results, and production performance data to continuously optimize infrastructure efficiency and system reliability.

Qualifications

Architectural Mastery: Proven track record in Software Architecture and Software Design, with deep expertise defining large-scale system structures, event-driven interfaces, and complex domain boundaries. Engineering Excellence: Extensive hands-on programming experience using modern languages (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, Python, or C++) and a mastery of structural, behavioral, and creational Design Patterns. Cloud-Native & Distributed Systems: Deep proficiency in designing scalable microservices, RESTful/gRPC APIs, message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and managing containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) within cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Technical Leadership: Exceptional ability to lead complex technical discussions, build consensus, make decisive architectural trade-offs, and explain highly abstract concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Security & Resilience: Robust background in reliability engineering, disaster recovery planning, performance tuning, and implementing security best practices (e.g., OWASP, OAuth2, encryption at rest/in transit). Remote Collaboration: Demonstrated success working autonomously within fully remote, agile, cross-functional engineering cultures. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent deep practical industry experience. Because this is a senior technical leadership position, the compensation package scales according to deep technical expertise and verified system design experience. Base Salary Range: $195,000 – $225,000 USD per year (or local currency equivalent, depending on your remote jurisdiction and cost-of-living adjustments). Performance Bonus: Up to 10% annual cash bonus based on individual architectural milestones and overall company performance indicators.
