Why brighthush is the Place to Accelerate Your Career
As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on our Customer Platform team, you will be at the forefront of building the APIs, entitlements, policies, and platform primitives that connect customers, partners, and internal product teams to brighthush’s secure software supply chain. You will own backend features from concept to production, shape the future of AI‑powered customer experiences, and mentor the next generation of engineers—all while working in a culture that values autonomy, continuous learning, and impact.
Role Overview
This role is a blend of visionary architecture, hands‑on engineering, and leadership. You will be the technical steward of our customer‑facing services, ensuring that every API call, entitlement decision, and policy enforcement is delivered at scale, with zero compromise on security or performance. Your influence will extend beyond code: you will help define the product roadmap, set engineering standards, and foster a culture of excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- End‑to‑End Ownership – Lead the full lifecycle of backend features: design, implementation, rollout, and iteration. Work closely with Product Management and partner teams to translate business goals into robust, scalable solutions.
- Backend Architecture & API Design – Design, build, and evolve high‑performance backend systems using Go, REST, and gRPC. Ensure that entitlement, policy, and onboarding services meet the demands of millions of API calls per day.
- Cross‑Team Collaboration – Serve as the primary technical liaison between the Customer Platform and other brighthush engineering groups (Containers, Libraries, OS Packages). Translate requirements into integration paths that maintain consistency across the ecosystem.
- AI‑Powered Product Innovation – Extend brighthush’s agentic AI foundation into customer‑facing product experiences. Collaborate with data scientists to embed intelligent features that anticipate user needs and streamline workflows.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship – Provide guidance to senior and mid‑level engineers. Help the team navigate ambiguity, break down complex problems, and deliver clear, measurable outcomes.
- Roadmap & Delivery – Contribute to a product‑driven roadmap with realistic deadlines. Prioritize trade‑offs, champion iterative delivery, and ensure that the team ships high‑quality features on time.
