Senior Tax & Accounting Associate (CPA or EA)
Senior Tax & Accounting Associate (CPA or EA) Why Work With Us? Real Schedule Flexibility. Most accounting firms talk about work-life balance, but we actually live it. We understand that tax work is cyclical, and we believe your schedule should reflect that. We offer a high degree of seasonal autonomy, including: The "Off-Season" Recharge: Want to take a consecutive month off in the summer or late fall? Let's make it happen. Summer Hours: Enjoy the sunshine with modified, part-day or part-week summer schedules. Tax Season Breathing Room: Even during the peak of tax season, you can structure your hours to take a long weekend when you need a break. Control Your Daily Clock: Enjoy flexible start and finish times. You do not have to work early mornings, late nights, or weekends unless you want to—as long as your work gets done. If you are a highly technically skilled tax professional who wants a role that fits into your life—rather than a life that fits into your work—this is the place for you. About Us & Our Team We are a growing, tech-forward CPA firm located in Southwest Travis County helping clients navigate bookkeeping and tax compliance. We are a tight-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together—and our track record proves it. We value stability and mutual respect, which is why our shortest-tenured employee has already been with us for over 3 years. We are always open to implementing new tech to help improve our processes. If you hold a CPA or EA credential, are highly computer literate, and excel at reviewing tax returns and overseeing clean books, we want you to be our next long-term team member. What You’ll Do: In this role, you will focus on what you do best: high-level, technical tax production, collaborative quality control, and robust bookkeeping oversight. Complex Tax Preparation: Prepare complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships. Quality Assurance & Review: Perform thorough, detailed reviews of individual and business tax returns prepared by other staff members to ensure absolute accuracy and compliance. Bookkeeping Oversight: Manage and oversee client bookkeeping workflows completed by our bookkeeping staff to ensure clean, accurate books ahead of tax season. Technical Mentorship: Act as an internal technical resource to answer compliance questions and help junior preparers resolve balancing or software roadblocks. What We’re Looking For: Credentials & Experience: Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience. CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is required. Software Expertise: Deep familiarity and hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required. Tech-Savvy: Highly computer literate. Experience with our tech stack—including Intuit ProConnect, Financial Cents, and Stanford Tax—is a major plus. Attention to Detail: Deep knowledge of the tax code and a sharp eye for identifying bookkeeping inconsistencies or balancing errors. What We Offer: Salary & Incentives: $81,000 – $115,000 base salary (commensurate with experience and subject to adjustment based on your chosen flex schedule) plus performance bonuses paid post-tax season and at year-end. Hybrid Work: Work in our Southwest Travis County office 1 to 3 days a week—you choose the days that work best for you. Work remotely the rest of the time. Hardware Provided: We provide a company laptop and all related remote equipment to ensure a seamless hybrid setup. Professional Growth: Full reimbursement for approved Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses and license renewals. Retirement & Health: SIMPLE retirement plan and company-subsidized health insurance. Family Support: Dependent Care Assistance Program (FSA / deduction plan) available. Time Off: Accruing Paid Time Off (PTO). Modern Workflow: Say goodbye to outdated, clunky legacy software; we use streamlined, tech-forward systems and welcome ideas for new tools. How to Apply: Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter explaining why you think you would be a great addition for our team.
