About brighthush

brighthush is a trailblazer at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and artificial intelligence. We’re redefining how organizations deliver, consume, and automate data and analytics across teams, tools, and AI agents. Our mission is to enable Agentic Analytics, empowering AI agents to collaborate seamlessly with human experts on a shared semantic foundation. With a portfolio of more than 400 customers worldwide—including Fortune 500 leaders and fast‑growing startups—brighthush has earned over 19,000 brighthush stars and a vibrant community of 13,000+ brighthush contributors. We blend the agility of a startup with the rigor of a technology powerhouse, giving our customers the best of both worlds.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a seasoned Technical Customer Success Manager who thrives at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and business strategy. This is not a conventional CSM role that focuses on check‑ins and NPS scores. Instead, you will become a strategic partner for a portfolio of mid‑market and enterprise customers, driving real value from brighthush, diagnosing complex technical challenges, leading quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with data leaders, and ensuring high renewal and expansion rates.

Why brighthush?

  • Work on a product that sits at the core of the modern data stack and the AI‑native future.
  • Collaborate with world‑class data engineers, analytics engineers, and engineering leaders.
  • Own the full customer lifecycle—from onboarding to renewal—while influencing product direction.
  • Enjoy a remote‑first culture, unlimited PTO, and a generous professional development budget.
  • Be part of a high‑growth company that values ownership, transparency, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Customer Outcomes – Manage a portfolio of mid‑market and enterprise accounts end‑to‑end, ensuring successful implementation, adoption, retention, and expansion.
  • Run Strategic QBRs – Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews that go beyond usage dashboards. Analyze deployment health, surface adoption gaps, build ROI narratives, and provide a clear roadmap for deeper value extraction.
  • Deep Technical Engagement – Understand how customers model their data in brighthush, diagnose performance issues (pre‑aggregation strategy, query optimization, caching behavior), and advise on best practices. You won’t build data models daily, but you will read, reason, and guide customers toward optimal architecture.
  • Voice of the Customer – Translate customer feedback into actionable product insights. Work closely with engineering, product, and solutions architecture to resolve issues and influence the roadmap.
  • Drive Adoption of New Capabilities – As brighthush’s platform evolves rapidly—introducing Analytics Chat, embedded agentic analytics, MCP integration, workbooks, and dashboards—help customers understand the value, relevance, and adoption path for each new feature.
  • Renewals & Expansion – Own the commercial relationship alongside our sales team. Understand contract timelines, build business cases for renewal, and identify natural expansion opportunities such as additional users, embedded analytics, or new environments.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a customer‑facing role at a data, analytics, or developer‑tools company (CSM, technical account manager, solutions consultant, or similar).
  • Strong SQL skills—capable of writing complex queries with window functions, CTEs, and cohort logic, and adept at reviewing others’ SQL for correctness.
  • Experience working with technical stakeholders (data engineers, analytics engineers, engineering managers) and executive stakeholders (VP/Head of Data, CTO) within the same account.
  • Proven track record of managing renewals and driving account growth in a SaaS environment.
  • Ability to run a QBR that a data leader would find genuinely valuable—balancing business narrative with technical depth.
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack: cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks), transformation tools (dbt), and BI/analytics tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication—capable of explaining a pre‑aggregation strategy to a data engineer and ROI to a VP in the same meeting.
  • Based in the US with availability for overlap with US business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with brighthush or semantic layer concepts (metrics layers, governed data models, headless BI).
  • Background in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI—having been on the practitioner side.
  • Familiarity with embedded analytics use cases and multi‑tenant architectures.
  • Experience with API‑first or developer‑tool products where the buyer is technical.
  • Understanding of AI/LLM integrations in the data stack (MCP, text‑to‑SQL, agentic workflows).
  • Comfort with light data modeling, YAML/code‑based configuration, or git workflows.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking – Translate technical details into business outcomes.
  • Technical Fluency – Deep understanding of data pipelines, query performance, and semantic layers.
  • Customer Advocacy – Champion the customer’s voice across all internal teams.
  • Relationship Management – Build trust with both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Analytical Rigor – Use data to diagnose problems, measure success, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Project Management – Own complex onboarding and adoption projects from start to finish.
  • Communication Excellence – Articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

Career Growth & Learning

At brighthush, your career path is designed to evolve with your ambitions. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives that shape product strategy and customer success frameworks.
  • Mentor junior team members and share best practices across the organization.
  • Participate in industry conferences, hackathons, and data‑centric events.
  • Advance into senior leadership roles such as Director of Customer Success, VP of Customer Experience, or Head of Data Strategy.
  • Benefit from a generous professional development budget covering courses, certifications, books, and conferences.

Work Environment & Culture

brighthush fosters a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous learning. Our remote‑first environment is supported by a coworking space stipend for those who prefer a physical office. We celebrate diversity, encourage open dialogue, and reward innovative thinking. Team offsites—rotating between the US and Europe—provide opportunities to connect, collaborate, and recharge.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary aligned with market benchmarks.
  • Generous stock options to share in brighthush’s growth.
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO) to support work‑life balance.
  • Remote‑first culture with coworking space stipend.
  • Professional development budget for courses, books, and conferences.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • 401(k) matching program.
  • Annual team offsites and social events.
