Senior Turboprop Technical Support Engineer & Field Solutions Specialist – Driving Reliability, Customer Success, and Innovation in Global Aviation for brighthush

🌍 Remote · United States 💼 Full-time

About brighthush – Pioneering the Future of Turboprop Aviation

brighthush is more than a manufacturer of turboprop aircraft; it is a global ecosystem of engineers, designers, pilots, and service professionals united by a single, audacious vision: to deliver safe, reliable, and high‑performance turboprop aircraft that keep the world moving. From the first prototype in a wind‑tunnel to the final flight test over the Pacific, every brighthush aircraft is built with precision, tested with rigor, and supported by a network of dedicated field experts. Our heritage is rooted in meticulous engineering and a relentless focus on customer success, earning us the trust of airlines, charter operators, and maintenance organizations across every continent.

As we expand our service footprint and embrace new technologies—such as predictive maintenance analytics, advanced composite materials, and next‑generation avionics—brighthush is looking for a seasoned Technical Support Engineer who can bridge the gap between the field and the factory. In this role, you will ensure that every brighthush aircraft remains at peak performance, translating field observations into actionable engineering solutions and empowering service centers with the knowledge they need.

Why This Role Matters

In the fast‑paced world of aviation, the difference between a smooth operation and a costly delay often hinges on the expertise of a single engineer. As the frontline champion of aircraft reliability, you will:

  • Translate real‑world field data into engineering insights that reduce downtime.
  • Empower operators with clear, actionable guidance that keeps their fleets on schedule.
  • Shape the next generation of product improvements by feeding back lessons learned.
  • Build lasting relationships with operators that foster trust and loyalty to the brighthush brand.

Your work will directly influence aircraft uptime, safety, and the overall experience of every brighthush operator, making you an essential part of our mission to keep the skies safe and efficient.

What You'll Do Every Day

As a Senior Turboprop Technical Support Engineer & Field Solutions Specialist, your day will be a blend of proactive problem‑solving, collaborative communication, and continuous learning. You will:

  • Respond promptly to inbound phone calls and emails from brighthush aircraft operators, providing clear, accurate guidance on maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational best practices.
  • Collect, organize, and synthesize technical data from field reports, inspection summaries, and discrepancy logs, producing concise problem summaries that inform marketing, engineering, and manufacturing stakeholders.
  • Maintain a living technical file that captures existing product improvements, potential enhancements, and serialized production changes, ensuring documentation is up‑to‑date and readily accessible to all internal teams.
  • Analyze discrepancy reports, coordinate root‑cause investigations, and drive corrective actions with internal departments and suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and brighthush, advocating for customer needs while aligning solutions with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel to brighthush‑owned service centers or independent maintenance facilities to provide hands‑on assistance during complex investigations, prototype installations, or unique aircraft issues.
  • Participate in periodic audits of curricula delivered by brighthush‑contracted training organizations, verifying that instructional content reflects the latest technical data and regulatory guidance.
  • Develop and deliver technical programs for operator conferences, webinars, and seminars, showcasing best practices, service bulletins, and product enhancements.
  • Work closely with Supplier Quality teams to ensure installed equipment meets reliability targets and to address any supplier‑related performance concerns.

Essential Qualifications

  • Either:
    • 4 + years of hands‑on aircraft maintenance experience and an A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) license, or
    • 4 + years of aircraft maintenance experience and a 2‑year technical degree (e.g., Aviation Maintenance Technology), or
    • 6 + years of experience as an Avionics Technician or a comparable role focused on aircraft troubleshooting and maintenance, or
    • A Bachelor’s degree and 2 + years of experience in aircraft structural repair, customer support, or related maintenance functions.
  • Deep technical knowledge of avionics systems, including mechanical, diagnostic, and electrical components.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Proven customer‑service orientation with a track record of building trust and delivering solutions under pressure.
  • Strong computer proficiency (MS Office suite, technical documentation tools, and basic data analysis software).
  • Self‑motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice, to support field operations.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Assets

  • Experience with turboprop aircraft platforms, especially those in the brighthush product line.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, Part 145 maintenance standards, and export control compliance.
  • Background in preparing technical proposals, service bulletins, or engineering change orders.
  • Previous involvement in training curriculum development or audit processes.
  • Professional certifications such as A&P with an avionics endorsement, or a Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) designation.

Core Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex technical problems, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable interfacing with marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to drive consensus.
  • Documentation Excellence: Precision in creating clear, concise, and technically accurate reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Customer Empathy: Understanding the operational pressures faced by aircraft operators and responding with timely, effective support.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment where priorities shift based on field emergencies or new product introductions.
  • Safety Mindset: Commitment to upholding the highest safety standards in every interaction and recommendation.
