Shelter Meal Provider (Cook-From-Home)
Help nourish our shelter guests by preparing homemade meals off‐site and delivering them to our low‐barrier shelter. Meal Providers play a vital role in supporting our clients' health and well‐being by offering delicious, thoughtfully prepared food. Responsibilities: Prepare meals at home following basic food‐safety guidelines Coordinate delivery/drop‐off times with OPCS staff in advance Label meals with ingredients and preparation date when requested Facility & Food Safety Notes: Our shelter has limited reheating capacity and no oven. To help keep clients safe, meals must arrive fully cooked, ready to serve, and prepared using safe food‐handling practices. Please avoid dishes requiring baking or extensive reheating, as well as raw or undercooked ingredients. Staff will share any additional guidelines in advance. Schedule: Flexible, based on your availability. Drop‐off times are coordinated ahead of time. This is a great opportunity for volunteers who enjoy cooking and want a flexible, behind‐the‐scenes way to make a meaningful impact.
