Title: Sr DB2 Mainframe Z/OS Expert Duration – 1-2yrs contract Location: Remote work Rate: Market Description Client is seasoned, highly skilled Lead Db2 for z/OS Systems Engineer to spearhead the architecture, engineering, security hardening, and lifecycle management of our mission-critical enterprise database infrastructure. In this role, you will lead our migration and modernization strategies toward Db2 13 for z/OS, managing complex Parallel Sysplex and data sharing groups. You will serve as the subject matter expert for database internals, system parameters (DSNZPARMs), advanced security implementations, and comprehensive vulnerability management. Core Responsibilities Db2 13 Upgrade & Infrastructure Engineering Lead the technical strategy, planning, and execution for migrating to Db2 13 for z/OS or optimizing the infrastructure for upcoming migrations. Manage Db2 software lifecycle management comprehensively using SMP/E, including PTF evaluations, RSU planning, APAR analysis, and thorough ++HOLDDATA and vendor advisory reviews. Architect robust software deployment governance models, defining strict maintenance windows, fallback planning, and backout considerations during version or function level upgrades. Configure, govern, and meticulously tune DSNZPARM settings across development, test, and production environments, providing deep technical recommendations on new and changed parameters.
