Sr Kubernetes DevOps Engineer Position: Contract to Hire Work Hours: 9-5pm EST Interview Process:

Description: Summary of the project/initiative: Project to migrate services from a legacy integration platform to Kubernetes/Docker, with microservices built using SpringBoot framework. Describe the team: 5 Top 5-10 responsibilities:
- Participate in debugging and performance tuning in a high-performance cloud platform
- Administer Kubernetes environments
- Tune the cloud platform for optimal performance
- Develop scripts for platform management (auto scaling up/down)
- Design and develop Jenkins deployment pipeline for CI/CD
Ideal candidate background: Hands on experience with implementing/administering micro services developed using SpringBoot, running on Kubernetes platform Skills/attributes are required:
- 10+ years of Software Engineering experience with 5+ years hand on experience on development/administration of open-source development frameworks on cloud technology stack (OpenShift/Kubernetes/containers).
- Expertise implementing microservices
- Knowledge of a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Node, Python)
- Excellent programming skills with Java and related frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate, Rest Assured, ActiveMQ etc
- Knowledge of UI based technologies preferably with Angular
- Knowledge of a variety of modern open-source technologies (Kafka, AVRO, Prometheus, ELK, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of a variety of modern database technologies with experience in both RDBMS and NoSQL Implementations
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment Strategies
- Expertise with RESTful Web Services
- Expertise with Git version control
- Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical colleagues.
- Expertise in container virtualization utilizing Docker and CICD using Jenkins, Gitlab or CircleCI
- Expertise in cloud architecture and platform solutions
Experience that will set candidates apart: Hands on implementation experience managing/designing microservices on Kubernetes/container platform and expertise in CI/CD using GIT and Jenkins.
