Remote Position

Sr Manager, Regulatory Compliance

🌍 Remote Β· United States πŸ’Ό Full-time

About Elektron Elektron is a large, privately held Bitcoin mining company. We manage a growing portfolio of mining sites across the United States and select international markets. We're built by Bitcoiners and operate by the principles that come with that: transparency, proof of work, and a high standard of execution. We're scaling quickly and this is an opportunity to be part of that growth from an early stage. About the role Elektron operates across multiple entities and jurisdictions, each with its own licenses, permits, filings, and contract obligations. This role makes sure Elektron meets them: working out what the business is required to do, getting it done on time, and flagging regulatory change before it affects a site. You will bring the regulatory knowledge to drive this function for Legal, working directly with the Chief Legal Officer and communicating independently with leadership and stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and Internal Audit and Controls as needed. The first priority is mapping current obligations and closing the highest-risk gaps. This is an individual contributor role. What you'll work on Own Elektron's regulatory obligations across each operating company, covering energy, site, tax, and filing requirements, so each has an owner and a due date and nothing is missed Interpret licenses, permits, and import and export authorizations, including their conditions and reporting requirements, and make sure renewals and reports happen ahead of deadlines Monitor regulatory change across active jurisdictions, assess what it means for current and planned sites, and brief Legal with a clear recommendation Serve as first point of contact for regulators and authorities, routing each inquiry to the right owner in Legal with the context needed to act Read major agreements and pull out what Elektron has committed to, including covenants, reporting duties, insurance requirements, and change-of-control triggers, and work with Finance so each is met and evidenced Keep every legal entity in good standing across its jurisdictions, coordinating annual reports and franchise tax filings with Finance and registered agents Keep compliance records in Workiva and give Legal a regular view of upcoming deadlines, open items, and emerging risks What you'll bring Several years in regulatory compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal operations, with hands-on ownership of obligations, not only oversight of them Experience interpreting regulations, licenses, and permits and turning them into specific obligations, ideally in a heavily regulated or permit-heavy business Experience working with regulators or government agencies, including responding to inquiries Entity management across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions, including annual reports, good standing, and registered agents Comfort reading executed agreements and pulling out the obligations that need action Sound judgment on what to resolve and what to escalate, and clear, direct communication with senior leaders and stakeholders Preferred: Workiva or a similar compliance or entity management platform, a background in energy, mining, data centers, or other permit-heavy infrastructure, import and export licensing, or a paralegal certificate or law degree. Interest in Bitcoin is a plus, not a requirement What success looks like Elektron meets its regulatory, contract, and entity obligations without last-minute escalation, and nothing material goes untracked Regulatory changes are spotted early, with a clear view of what they mean for current and planned sites Legal and leadership hear about the right issues at the right time, with a clear view of what needs to happen next Compensation and benefits Base salary range: $220,000 to $275,000, plus a discretionary annual bonus. Placement within the range reflects depth of experience across regulatory, contract, and entity compliance. Medical, dental, and vision coverage with an employer contribution. Unlimited paid time off and US public holidays. Fully remote. Equal employment opportunity Elektron Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
