Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, implement, and support enterprise-level ServiceNow applications and platform solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in ServiceNow development, App Engine Studio, custom application development, scripting, integrations, and UI configuration. The candidate will work closely with product owners, service managers, and cross-functional technical teams to deliver secure, scalable, maintainable, and upgrade-safe solutions while following ServiceNow platform standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow applications and platform enhancements. Build and maintain custom applications using App Engine Studio and scoped applications. Develop server-side scripts, including Script Includes, Business Rules, and Scripted REST APIs. Use GlideRecord, Flow Designer, reusable actions, subflows, and automation capabilities. Configure Configurable Workspace, UI Builder, UI Policies, and Client Scripts. Implement REST integrations and data exchanges using JSON and IntegrationHub. Design and maintain ACLs, role-based access controls, and platform security configurations. Optimize application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure upgrade compatibility. Follow platform governance, naming conventions, security requirements, and development standards. Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release governance. Review code, mentor developers, and provide technical guidance to the development team. Maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational runbooks. Required Skills and Experience 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in enterprise environments. 3+ years of experience developing and supporting custom applications using App Engine Studio. Strong experience with scoped applications and ServiceNow platform APIs. Proficiency in JavaScript and server-side scripting. Strong knowledge of Script Includes, Business Rules, Scripted REST APIs, and GlideRecord. Experience with Flow Designer, subflows, reusable actions, and workflow automation. Experience with Configurable Workspace, UI Builder, Client Scripts, and UI Policies. Knowledge of ACLs, role hierarchy, and ServiceNow security best practices. Experience with REST integrations, JSON, and IntegrationHub. 3+ years of experience working in Agile or sprint-based delivery environments. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA). ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD). ITIL 4 Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM experience. Experience with Platform Analytics, indicators, breakdowns, and dashboards. Experience supporting platform upgrades, change management, and release governance. Demonstrated ability to mentor developers and review technical solutions. Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
