Role Description The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for overseeing the engineering organization and driving the technology strategy that supports Thakar Estate Management’s real estate and client service platforms. This role involves managing and mentoring engineering teams, setting technical direction, and ensuring high-quality software development practices. The Vice President of Engineering will collaborate closely with product, operations, and business stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize projects, and deliver scalable solutions that enhance client experience and operational efficiency. Daily responsibilities include reviewing architectural designs, monitoring project execution, optimizing development processes, and implementing best practices in security, reliability, and performance. The role also requires building a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills to guide, mentor, and grow distributed engineering teams. Hands-on experience with Software Development and Product Development, including designing and delivering scalable, client-facing platforms. Demonstrated Project Management skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders. Proven track record in defining technical strategy and aligning engineering roadmaps with business goals. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment. Experience in real estate, property technology (PropTech), or financial services platforms is an advantage. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with cloud-based architectures, data security, and integration with third-party services such as banking or CRM systems is beneficial.
