Role Description The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the engineering organization and ensuring high-quality delivery of software products. This role oversees engineering strategy, manages and mentors engineering managers and technical leads, and aligns engineering initiatives with product and business goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting technical direction, defining processes and standards, reviewing project roadmaps, and removing obstacles that affect team performance. The role collaborates closely with product management, operations, and other business stakeholders to prioritize work, manage resources, and maintain clear communication. The Vice President of Engineering also drives continuous improvement in development practices, security, reliability, and scalability, while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Qualifications
Demonstrated strength in Engineering Management and Team Leadership, including building, mentoring, and scaling diverse, high-performing engineering teams. Hands-on experience with Software Development and Product Development, with the ability to guide architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy. Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and delivery within agreed timelines and budgets. Proven ability to collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional partners, translating business objectives into actionable engineering plans. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fully remote environment. Experience with modern software development methodologies, cloud platforms, and best practices for security, reliability, and scalability. Background in building and maintaining inclusive engineering cultures that support diverse perspectives and equitable opportunities. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or equivalent experience is beneficial.
