Vice President of Finance And Operations

Role Description The Vice President of Finance and Operations is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the financial strategy and operational effectiveness of the Foundation. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance, ensuring funds are managed responsibly and aligned with the Foundation’s mission and regulatory requirements. The Vice President will manage financial statements, monitor grants and donations, optimize internal processes, and support governance through accurate, timely financial insights. Day-to-day activities include analyzing financial performance, coordinating with leadership and external partners, refining operational policies, and contributing to long-term strategic planning. The role also involves building and maintaining efficient systems, mentoring team members, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in Finance, Financial Planning, and Financial Reporting, with the ability to develop and manage budgets and long-term financial strategies. Strong knowledge of Financial Statements and accounting principles, including the ability to interpret and present financial data to leadership and stakeholders. Advanced Analytical Skills to evaluate financial performance, assess risks, and support data-driven decisions. Experience leading finance and operations functions, ideally within a nonprofit, foundation, or grantmaking environment. Proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and productivity software (e.g., Excel, accounting platforms, and CRM or grant management tools). Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting. Proven leadership abilities, including team management, process improvement, and change management.
