Role Description The Vice President of Platform is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of Spark Tech Agency’s core platform capabilities. This role oversees platform architecture, infrastructure, and shared services, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and performance across client-facing products. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining platform roadmaps, aligning stakeholders, prioritizing initiatives, and guiding cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and architects. The Vice President of Platform will set technical standards, optimize development practices, and drive adoption of best-in-class tools and cloud technologies. The role also includes mentoring leaders, managing budgets and vendor relationships, monitoring platform metrics, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership in platform or product engineering organizations, including experience setting strategy, managing teams, and delivering complex technical initiatives. Strong background in software architecture and cloud infrastructure (e.g., microservices, APIs, cloud platforms, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling). Experience building and scaling shared platforms or services that support multiple products, clients, or internal teams. Proven ability to collaborate with product, design, engineering, and business stakeholders, and to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, accessible language. Track record of using data and metrics to inform platform decisions, optimize performance, and ensure reliability and security. Experience with budgeting, resource planning, vendor management, and contract negotiation within a technology or platform context. Ability to lead distributed teams effectively, including experience with remote work practices, asynchronous communication, and inclusive management approaches. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is beneficial. Prior experience in a technology agency, SaaS organization, or digital product company is highly advantageous.
