501(c)(3) Christian Animal-Welfare Organization Location: Remote / Virtual — Google Workspace Status: Unpaid Volunteer — no guarantee of future paid employment Model: Shared Team Model Initial Commitment: 2–4 hours per week Initial Pilot: 30 days Expected Horizon: Minimum 3 months if mutually determined to be a good fit Primary Access During Pilot: Level 1 — Controlled Project Files ⚠️ CRITICAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENT — READ BEFORE APPLYINGThe Animal Cause is not recruiting casual social-media volunteers who want to make an occasional post when they have free time. We are building a sophisticated, multi-program animal-welfare organization whose infrastructure includes rescue, transport, animal visibility, community partnerships, foster networks, education, fundraising, volunteer development, and future specialized animal-welfare divisions. Our content operation therefore cannot depend upon one person "doing social media." We are building a Content Creator Team in which multiple contributors can work from standardized systems, shared content calendars, approved assets, templates, production standards, review procedures, and documented handoffs. You should expect structured onboarding; defined assignments; shared-team production; standardized templates and naming conventions; weekly written accountability; review and revision; content categorization; accurate source verification; changing priorities; incomplete or imperfect source material; work that sometimes requires research rather than simply "making a post"; strict boundaries around what may and may not be published; and a professional expectation that your teammates must be able to continue your work if you are unavailable. This is not an "easy volunteer opportunity." If your intention is to make an occasional post, create a few cute animal graphics, or contribute only when inspiration strikes, this will not be a sustainable fit. If you enjoy building something from the ground up, working within a system, creating truthful and compelling stories, and contributing consistently as part of a team, we want to hear from you. OUR MISSIONThe Animal Cause, Inc. is a Christian animal-welfare organization committed to serving vulnerable animals through practical stewardship, rescue support, transport, visibility, community infrastructure, education, and restorative programs. Our work is grounded in the conviction that animals are part of God's creation and that human beings have a responsibility to exercise that stewardship faithfully. The content team serves an important function within that mission: We make the invisible visible without exploiting suffering. We tell truthful stories. We educate people. We help the public understand animal welfare. We create pathways for people to act. And we help the organization build the public infrastructure necessary to serve animals at greater scale. THE CONTENT CREATOR TEAMThis is a team-model opportunity, not a single-person social-media-manager position. Depending upon your skills, you may contribute to one or more production lanes: 1. Animal StorytellingTransform verified animal information, photographs and video into compelling stories that help an animal be seen without exaggeration, manipulation or exploitation. 2. Educational ContentCreate educational posts, carousels, articles, short videos and visual explainers concerning responsible animal stewardship and animal welfare. 3. Species ContentHelp develop reusable content systems for the range of animal species TAC may serve or educate about. This may include companion animals and other future species-specific content categories. Important: A content category does not mean that TAC currently operates a dedicated rescue or service division for that species. 4. Program & Mission ContentExplain TAC programs, services, infrastructure, partnerships and organizational initiatives using only verified information. 5. Graphic ContentCreate branded graphics, informational carousels, quote graphics, educational visuals, campaign assets and other approved visual materials. 6. Short-Form VideoCreate Reels, Shorts and other short-form video assets from approved photographs, video footage, graphics, narration and verified information. 7. CopywritingDevelop captions, headlines, educational copy, calls to action, campaign copy and other written content consistent with TAC's voice. 8. Content ResearchResearch subjects, verify information and provide source documentation so creators are not building content from assumptions, social-media rumors or unsupported claims. 9. Content RepurposingConvert one verified source asset into multiple appropriate formats rather than continually creating disconnected content from scratch. 10. Future-Division Content InfrastructureBuild templates and evergreen educational content for future TAC initiatives while clearly labeling those initiatives as future/foundational rather than currently operational. WHY THIS ROLE MATTERSTAC's content operation is not simply about "posting more." The organization is building an integrated infrastructure in which animal visibility, public education, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, partner relationships and organizational credibility can reinforce one another. The existing media architecture already identifies the need to move raw animal media into structured, branded narratives while maintaining a controlled review process. The Content Creator Team expands that concept into a sustainable production system. Your work may ultimately help create: animal profiles; educational campaigns; species education libraries; program explainers; fundraising assets; volunteer recruitment content; partner-facing materials; community education; short-form video; social-media campaigns; website content; evergreen content libraries; seasonal campaigns; future program awareness; and reusable content templates. SCRIPTURAL ANCHORProverbs 12:22"The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy." For the Content Creator Team, truthfulness is not a stylistic preference. It is an operating requirement. We will not manufacture suffering to increase engagement. We will not exaggerate an animal's condition. We will not create false urgency. We will not manipulate viewers through shame or deception. We will not alter an animal's physical reality through AI. We will not present a future program as an operating program. We will not use an animal merely as a marketing object. Our goal is to create compelling content without compromising truth. Additional principles include 1 Corinthians 14:40 — "But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way." Luke 16:10 — "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much." Proverbs 27:23 — "Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds." The last principle is particularly appropriate for animal storytelling: before telling the public something about an animal, know what you are actually saying. CONTENT GOVERNANCEDuring the initial pilot, volunteers work inside controlled project files. No volunteer may independently publish to TAC social-media accounts; represent TAC publicly; make organizational commitments; alter administrative settings; publish unapproved animal information; create claims about active programs without verification; release sensitive animal, partner or donor information; or bypass the established review chain. The existing TAC framework intentionally separates content production from publication authority and establishes controlled access levels. WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVETAC's philosophy is Learn While You Serve. Volunteers are not expected to arrive knowing TAC's systems. You will receive access to structured learning resources, templates, job aids, SOPs and a defined onboarding pathway. The existing L&D model specifically establishes a Knowledge Hub, structured pilot, onboarding support and progression opportunities rather than leaving volunteers to figure out their responsibilities independently. Strong performers may eventually qualify for expanded responsibilities such as: Content Lead; Species Content Lead; Campaign Coordinator; Digital Media Coordinator; Content Quality Reviewer; Content Research Lead; or other authorized leadership responsibilities as the organization develops. Advancement is based on demonstrated reliability and capability—not simply enthusiasm or length of service. WHO SHOULD NOT APPLYThis opportunity is probably not appropriate if you: want occasional volunteer work with no ongoing commitment; primarily want animals to interact with rather than behind-the-scenes organizational work; dislike deadlines; dislike structured review; expect to publish independently; are uncomfortable with Christian organizational principles; want complete creative control; regularly disappear from projects without communication; require continual one-on-one instruction; are primarily interested in building your personal portfolio; believe emotional manipulation is acceptable if it increases donations; or cannot reliably maintain a small weekly commitment. There is nothing wrong with wanting casual volunteer work. That is simply not what this opportunity is.
