AI Business Analyst – Automation & Agentic Workflows Contract | 4–6 months | [Remote] About the role We are seeking a hands-on AI Business Analyst to help build reliable automation and AI-enabled workflows for commercial analytics, reporting, planning, and research. This role is for someone who can bridge business needs and technical execution. You will work closely with a senior commercial strategy leader to turn recurring, manual work into dependable workflows that improve speed, consistency, and decision support. This is not a chatbot-only or strategy-only role. The ideal candidate can document processes, work with data, build automation, test results rigorously, and train business users to maintain what is built. What you’ll do Map and document recurring commercial, reporting, planning, and research workflows. Translate business needs into clear requirements, workflow designs, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans. Build deterministic data and reporting workflows before introducing AI-enabled or agentic capabilities. Develop automated reporting, data-validation, exception-management, and human-approval workflows. Help build a weekly retailer consumption cockpit and a customer buy-plan/forecast review workflow. Work with Microsoft tools including Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI, and applicable Copilot/agent tools. Build toward a Snowflake, SQL, Python, API, and Sigma Computing environment. Create data-quality checks, reconciliation processes, run logs, alerts, and clear manual fallback procedures. Use AI to support tasks such as drafting insights from approved data, summarizing inputs, identifying exceptions, preparing meeting materials, and generating review questions. Ensure AI-generated content is reviewed by a human before use in final reports, forecasts, or external communication. Document workflows, create training materials, and train internal users to operate and extend completed solutions. What success looks like The first workflows must reproduce approved manual reporting exactly when using the same source data, reporting period, and business rules. You will be expected to build solutions that are: Accurate and auditable. Easy to understand and maintain. Governed by clear source, validation, exception, and approval rules. Designed for human review and business ownership. Transferable to internal users at the end of the contract. Required qualifications Experience as a Business Analyst, Analytics Engineer, Automation Consultant, AI Workflow Builder, Data Analyst, or similar role. Strong SQL and Python skills. Experience with Snowflake or another cloud-data platform. Experience building data transformations, validation checks, reconciliations, and repeatable reporting workflows. Working knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI, and/or Copilot Studio. Experience building AI-enabled workflows, LLM-based tools, agents, or business-process automations with appropriate guardrails. Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. Strong documentation, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills. Evidence of delivering a workflow that was adopted and maintained after handoff. Preferred qualifications Experience with Sigma Computing. Experience in CPG, retail, e-commerce, category management, demand planning, S&OP/IBP, sales analytics, or customer planning. Experience with retailer POS data, forecasting, buy plans, syndicated data, pricing, promotions, assortment, or competitive intelligence. Experience with APIs, workflow tools, web-data monitoring, or structured external research. Experience with version control, automated testing, and production monitoring.
