Chief Data Product Officer

Role Description The Senior Director of Data Engineering is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the design, development, and operation of the company’s data platforms and pipelines. This role oversees multiple data engineering teams, sets technical direction, and establishes best practices for data architecture, governance, and quality. Day-to-day responsibilities include partnering with product, analytics, and software engineering stakeholders to define data requirements, prioritizing and managing projects, and ensuring timely delivery of robust data solutions. The Senior Director will guide the implementation and integration of data services and tools, mentor engineering leaders, and optimize processes for scalability, security, and performance. This position also involves budget and resource planning, risk management, and contributing to long-term data strategy and roadmap.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, including experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering organizations. Candidates should possess solid Software Development experience, with a background in building data-intensive systems and familiarity with modern data engineering technologies. Candidates should possess proven Project Management skills, including prioritization, roadmap planning, and delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives. Candidates should possess Integration expertise, with experience designing and implementing integrations between data platforms, applications, and third-party systems. Candidates should possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Candidates should possess a track record of designing scalable data architectures, working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and implementing data governance and security practices. Candidates should possess experience mentoring and developing engineering leaders, fostering inclusive teams, and building a culture of continuous improvement. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; an advanced degree or equivalent practical experience in data engineering leadership is beneficial.
