Chief Technology Officer
Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, remote role responsible for defining and executing the company’s overall technology vision and strategy. Day-to-day activities include leading software and product development teams, overseeing technology architecture decisions, and ensuring that systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. The CTO will collaborate closely with executive leadership to prioritize initiatives, manage technology roadmaps, and guide project management practices that support timely, high-quality delivery. This role also involves mentoring technology leaders, establishing best practices for engineering, and evaluating new tools and platforms to enhance efficiency and innovation. The CTO will represent the technology function in cross-functional discussions, support budgeting and vendor decisions, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Qualifications
Strong background in Software Development and Product Development, with experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex solutions. Proficiency in IT Strategy and Architecture, including designing scalable, secure systems and aligning technology initiatives with business goals. Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, including prioritization, resource planning, and coordinating cross-functional technology projects. Experience in building and leading remote, distributed technology teams, with inclusive leadership and clear communication skills. Knowledge of modern development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps), cloud platforms, security best practices, and data-driven decision-making. Proven ability to collaborate with executive leadership, communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and influence strategic direction. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Prior experience in a senior technology leadership role (e.g., VP Engineering, Head of Technology, CTO) in a fast-paced or high-growth environment is highly beneficial.
