Role Description The Chief Web3 Officer is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading Messari’s overall Web3 vision, strategy, and execution. This leader will define how Messari engages with decentralized protocols, on-chain data, and emerging Web3 ecosystems, ensuring that products, research, and partnerships align with long-term strategic goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include driving cross-functional initiatives with product, engineering, research, and business development teams; overseeing the integration of on-chain data and Web3 tools into Messari’s platform; and guiding the development of new features that serve institutional and retail users in the crypto space. The Chief Web3 Officer will represent Messari in the broader Web3 community, build strategic partnerships with protocols and ecosystem projects, and establish frameworks for governance, compliance, and risk management in decentralized environments. This role also includes mentoring leaders across the organization, supporting a culture of innovation, and aligning business outcomes with Messari’s mission and values.

Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership experience in Web3, crypto, or blockchain-focused organizations, including ownership of strategy, product direction, or ecosystem development. Deep understanding of decentralized protocols, tokenomics, DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and on-chain data, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear business and product decisions. Track record of building and maintaining strategic partnerships with crypto projects, infrastructure providers, institutional market participants, and developer communities. Experience working closely with product, engineering, and data teams to design and launch Web3-driven features, integrations, or platforms at scale. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, including comfort with data-driven approaches, risk assessment, and prioritization in fast-moving markets. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with executive leadership, technical teams, and external stakeholders in a clear and inclusive manner. Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, and security considerations in the crypto and Web3 landscape, and the ability to incorporate these into strategic planning. Proven ability to thrive in a remote, distributed environment, with strong self-management, collaboration, and mentorship capabilities.
