Director, Client Engagement (Knowledge & Legal Research Services)

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Client Engagement (Knowledge & Legal Research Services) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This leader will drive growth for a specialized client engagement function focused on knowledge, research, and legal advisory services. The role will partner closely with subject matter experts and delivery leaders to shape client needs into compelling service offerings and ensure strong handoff from sales development to execution. It is well suited for a commercially minded professional who can build trusted relationships, scope complex engagements, and support high-quality service delivery in a senior, client-facing environment. Location: Remote Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

Build a pipeline of new knowledge and research services engagements through market relationships and referrals Lead discovery conversations to understand client priorities and challenges Shape client needs into practical engagement approaches, involving subject matter experts as needed Develop scope and resourcing for proposals in partnership with delivery leaders Contribute to pricing models that support margin objectives Own growth and performance for interim research services, overseeing delivery quality Lead the handover from engagement development to delivery, ensuring clarity on scope and expectations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS), JD, or a relevant advanced degree preferred Significant experience in knowledge, research, or information services within a law firm or consulting environment Proven ability to develop client relationships and shape new engagements, particularly in advisory or managed services Experience developing proposals, Statements of Work, and scoping or pricing inputs Strong understanding of law firm library, research, and knowledge functions' priorities Experience with thought leadership and market-facing programs Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
