IT Subject Matter Expert (SME)

About the Opportunity: The IT SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME) is responsible for leading business process analysis, optimization, and continuous improvement within the organization's IT and cybersecurity initiatives. This role influences strategic and operational efforts to enhance system performance, security, and compliance, ensuring alignment with mission objectives. Responsibilities: Serve as the technical SME for enterprise IT and cybersecurity projects. Lead design, implementation, and modernization of secure government information systems. Advise leadership on emerging technologies and cybersecurity risk mitigation. Support enterprise planning aligned with mission and cybersecurity goals. Evaluate and recommend improvements to IT infrastructure. Facilitate implementation and maintenance of Zero Trust cybersecurity principles. Assist in cybersecurity engineering throughout the system lifecycle. Participate in assessments, audits, and vulnerability remediation. Requirements: Strong knowledge of organizational management. Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority. Excellent facilitation and conflict resolution skills. Skill in translating business strategy into operational improvements. Proficient in data analysis and reporting. Experience with dashboards and performance metrics. Balance strategic planning with tactical execution. Preferred experience in operational excellence, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, risk management, and cross-functional leadership. Active Secret Security Clearance. United States citizenship. Maintain required security clearances and certifications.
