[Remote] Billing Consultant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Wellfleet, a Berkshire Hathaway company, provides accident and health insurance products and services. The Billing Consultant supports Workplace Benefits billing by processing invoices and reports, managing complex customer accounts, resolving billing and broker compensation issues, improving processes, and responding to internal and external inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Process customer billing, analyzing data, producing invoices, and billing reports accurately and timely
• Manage more complex workloads/customer accounts
• Create or modify process documentation and workflows as needed
• Identify and execute on process improvements
• Train and mentor new hires
• Handle and collect group level past dues
• Work with the client management team, sales team, and external parties to resolve billing and broker compensation issues
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of billing-related transactions
• Independently research and respond to customers (internal and external) by phone, email, or other forms of communication
• Research issues or concerns, and escalate to appropriate parties to determine resolutions and follow up to ensure a response in given in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in medical billing or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience in the field or a combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of the workplace benefits industry required
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external customers
• Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including thorough and complete follow-up on all time sensitive items
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
• Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve, conduct thorough research and provide issue resolutions
• Knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
