Our culture is built on transparency, continuous learning, and a shared commitment to delivering value to our customers and to each other.

Why This Role Matters

In the fast‑evolving world of healthcare analytics, the ability to turn raw data into actionable insights is a competitive advantage. The Business Analytics Engineer – Customer Insights will be the bridge between our customers’ clinical and administrative needs and the sophisticated data models that power our embedded analytics platform. You will shape the data foundation, design reusable semantic layers, and ensure that every metric and dashboard not only meets rigorous statistical standards but also speaks clearly to clinicians, administrators, and executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Foundation & Quality – Connect the new data platform to existing warehouses, troubleshoot data quality issues, and define data contracts that serve multiple customers.
  • Customer Discovery & Requirements Translation – Lead discovery conversations with radiology group administrators, quality/operations leads, and informatics teams to surface true measurement needs and translate them into actionable data specifications.
  • Semantic Layer & Dashboard Design – Build governed metrics, joins, and reusable models that scale across customers, ensuring consistency and maintainability.
  • Statistical Rigor – Apply confidence intervals, risk adjustment, and outlier handling to healthcare data, ensuring that every metric is statistically sound and contextually meaningful.
  • AI‑Powered Workflow – Leverage AI agents to describe, model, and document data relationships, then validate their outputs for accuracy and relevance.
  • End‑to‑End Data Quality Ownership – Detect, document, and explain anomalies before customers do, embedding caveats directly into deliverables.
  • Reusable Data Products – Use dbt/Snowflake‑style modeling to create durable, reusable metrics that can be deployed across multiple customers without re‑derivation.
  • Cross‑Functional Prioritization – Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to prioritize metrics and dashboards that drive real business impact.
  • Data Storytelling – Present findings to non‑technical audiences, translating statistical nuance into clear, actionable insights for clinicians and executives.

Essential Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data science, or business/BI analysis.
  • Advanced SQL skills – capable of writing and optimizing complex queries beyond simple filtering.
  • Strong statistical foundation – confidence intervals, significance testing, sample‑size considerations, outlier handling, and the judgment to add caveats when necessary.
  • Hands‑on experience with a modern governed BI/semantic layer tool (Omni, Looker, Sigma, ThoughtSpot, etc.) and a SQL/Python notebook or exploration environment (Hex, Mode, etc.).
  • Proficiency in dbt/Snowflake‑style modeling environments, building reusable models that scale across customers.
  • Direct experience defining or maintaining a semantic layer (entity/metric definitions, joins, governed fields).
  • Comfort with ambiguity – thrive in undefined problems, messy data, and the absence of a playbook.
  • Proven ability to run discovery with external stakeholders, asking incisive follow‑up questions and arriving at defensible metric definitions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – able to present complex data to non‑technical, clinical audiences without oversimplifying.
  • Experience with customer‑facing analytics products, understanding the higher bar for dashboards seen by paying customers.
  • Exposure to multi‑tenant data governance (row‑level security, per‑customer isolation) in an embedded analytics context.
  • Prior experience in a company selling into hospitals/health systems, with an understanding of procurement and IT review cycles.

Preferred Qualifications & Bonus Skills

  • Demonstrated AI fluency – concrete examples of how AI tools have transformed your data workflows in the past six months.
  • Healthcare, health‑IT, or regulated‑industry data experience (HIPAA awareness, payer/facility/specialty nuances).
  • Familiarity with radiology‑specific concepts (PACS, HL7/FHIR, turnaround time, RVU, template‑driven reporting).
  • Experience building or maintaining a customer‑facing analytics product in a SaaS environment.

What You’ll Gain

  • Career Growth – Work alongside seasoned data scientists, product managers, and clinicians, gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle from discovery to deployment.
  • Learning Opportunities – Access to internal training, external conferences, and a generous annual stipend for equipment and professional development.
  • Impact – Your work will directly influence how radiology groups measure quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes, making a tangible difference in healthcare delivery.
  • Remote Flexibility – Work from anywhere in the United States while staying connected through a vibrant virtual community and annual in‑person offsites.
