Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Emerson is hiring a Business Development Manager to grow sales of its Appleton product portfolio in the North American data center market. The role develops new business, builds strategic customer and channel relationships, influences project specifications, and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to expand market presence.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth within the data center market
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with owners, operators, engineers, contractors, and channel partners
- Build and maintain strategic customer relationships
- Conduct direct sales calls as appropriate to drive the objectives of the business
- Maintain an active pipeline and provide accurate forecasting and business updates
- Collaborate with regional sales teams to develop account and market growth strategies
- Influence project specifications and position Emerson solutions early in the sales cycle
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities
- Partner with marketing on industry events, webinars, and demand-generation activities
- Maintain an active pipeline and provide accurate forecasting and business updates
- Represent Emerson at customer meetings, industry conferences, and trade events
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, a Technical Field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years business development or sales experience with consistent track record of success
- Experience driving sales growth in a business-to-business environment
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to develop sales strategies based on customer needs and market trends
- Experience working across cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools

- Experience in the data center, critical infrastructure, electrical, automation, or industrial technology markets
- Knowledge of power distribution, thermal management, automation, networking, or related technologies
- Experience working with consulting engineers, contractors, distributors, and end users
- Proven success developing and growing strategic customer relationships
- MBA or advanced business degree
