[Remote] Chief Operating Officer

Elliker Financial is an independent financial services firm seeking a Chief Operating Officer to oversee business operations, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and support long-term strategic objectives. The role works with company leadership to improve processes, coordinate business functions, manage organizational priorities, and support sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Executive Leadership & Strategy: Collaborate with company leadership to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's long-term business objectives
• Business Operations: Oversee daily business operations, establish effective workflows, and ensure operational activities are conducted efficiently and consistently
• Process Improvement: Evaluate existing procedures, identify operational inefficiencies, and implement improvements to enhance productivity, service quality, and organizational performance
• Organizational Management: Coordinate business functions, clarify responsibilities, and support effective collaboration across internal teams and external partners
• Performance Monitoring: Establish operational objectives, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide leadership with regular updates on business performance and improvement opportunities
• Financial & Resource Management: Work with leadership to support operational budgeting, resource allocation, cost management, and responsible use of company resources
• Risk Management & Compliance Coordination: Support the development of appropriate operational controls, internal procedures, and compliance processes in coordination with relevant professionals
• Client Experience: Help strengthen service delivery, improve client communication processes, and maintain consistent service standards across the organization
• Business Development Support: Identify opportunities to improve operational scalability, strengthen business capabilities, and support the company's growth initiatives
• Technology & Systems: Evaluate operational tools, systems, and reporting processes that can improve efficiency, information flow, and management decision-making
• Executive Reporting: Prepare operational reports, strategic recommendations, and performance updates to support informed executive decisions
• Organizational Development: Support workforce planning, leadership development, and the establishment of a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field
• Significant professional experience in business operations, organizational leadership, or senior management
• Demonstrated ability to develop operational strategies and lead business improvement initiatives
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, performance measurement, and operational planning
• Ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate multiple business functions effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound, data-informed decisions
• Familiarity with business processes, internal controls, and risk management practices
• Proficiency with business productivity tools, reporting systems, and operational management platforms
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote work environment
• An advanced degree is an advantage
• Experience in financial services, wealth management, investment advisory, or a related professional services environment
• Experience supporting organizational growth, operational transformation, or business process optimization
• Familiarity with client relationship management (CRM) systems and performance reporting tools
• Experience working directly with founders, company owners, or executive leadership teams
