About brighthush

brighthush is a trailblazing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Digital Security Platform that empowers organizations to discover, monitor, and protect sensitive data across SaaS, cloud, AI, and endpoints. Founded in 2021, brighthush has rapidly grown into a trusted partner for Fortune 500 companies, mid‑market enterprises, and high‑growth startups alike. Our mission is simple: give every business the confidence that its data is safe, compliant, and always accessible when needed. With a culture rooted in innovation, collaboration, and customer obsession, we’re looking for a passionate Remote Customer Success Engineer to help us scale our impact and shape the future of data security.

Why Join brighthush?

At brighthush, you’ll be part of a high‑velocity, cross‑functional team that thrives on solving complex problems. We believe in ownership, continuous learning, and customer‑centricity. As a Customer Success Engineer, you’ll own the entire customer journey—from contract signing to renewal—while driving adoption of our cutting‑edge DLP/DSPM solutions. In return, we offer competitive compensation, equity, and a flexible remote work environment that lets you balance life and work while staying connected to a vibrant community of security experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Onboarding & Adoption – Guide new clients through a seamless onboarding experience, integrating Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zendesk, AI tools, endpoints, and browsers. Configure DLP/DSPM policies and ensure customers achieve value quickly.
  • Support & Issue Resolution – Own the customer Slack channels, triage questions, reproduce issues, debug integrations, and deliver clean, actionable tickets to engineering. Turn vague complaints into clear, reproducible problems.
  • Renewals & Expansion – Drive renewal conversations and identify expansion opportunities such as additional seats, connectors, endpoint/browser DLP, and AI data security add‑ons. Own the numbers, not just NPS.
  • Process & Automation – Build playbooks, AI agents, documentation, and health‑score dashboards that scale customer success as the customer base grows.
  • Product Feedback Loop – Translate customer pain points into actionable product input for engineering, ensuring our roadmap reflects real‑world needs.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a customer‑facing post‑sales role (Customer Success, Technical Account Management, Solutions Engineering) at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Proficiency reading API documentation, debugging OAuth or SSO integrations, and understanding DLP policy mechanics. Ability to converse credibly with security engineers.
  • Demonstrated extreme ownership: you solve problems and then build systems to prevent recurrence.
  • Comfortable owning renewal and expansion metrics; you’re as comfortable with numbers as you are with customer conversations.
  • Clear, concise written communication skills—your documentation is a go‑to resource for customers.
  • Fast‑moving, adaptable mindset; you thrive in a dynamic, fast‑growth environment.
  • Proficiency with AI tools for support, documentation, and operations.
  • U.S. citizenship or valid U.S. work visa.
  • Experience as a startup founder or founding team member is highly valued.
  • Background in security, DLP, DSPM, or compliance is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large‑scale SaaS integrations (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Atlassian suite).
  • Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other data‑protection regulations.
  • Previous role in a high‑growth security startup with a track record of scaling customer success operations.
  • Experience building and maintaining AI‑driven support agents or chatbots.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Acumen – Deep understanding of SaaS ecosystems, OAuth, SSO, API integration, and data‑loss prevention mechanisms.
  • Customer‑Obsessed Mindset – Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and turning feedback into action.
  • Analytical Thinking – Ability to dissect complex problems, identify root causes, and design scalable solutions.
  • Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills; you can explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management – Skilled at juggling multiple priorities, setting clear milestones, and delivering on time.
  • Collaboration – Comfortable working cross‑functionally with engineering, product, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Adaptability – Thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment; you’re not afraid to pivot when needed.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At brighthush, your career path is as dynamic as our product. We provide:

  • Mentorship from senior leaders and product experts.
  • Access to industry conferences, security certifications, and continuous learning platforms.
  • Clear promotion tracks: Customer Success Lead → Director → VP of Customer Success.
  • Opportunities to transition into product management, engineering, or sales based on your interests.
  • Regular performance reviews that focus on growth, impact, and skill development.

Work Environment & Culture

brighthush is a fully remote, distributed team that values autonomy, trust, and transparency. We celebrate diversity, encourage open dialogue, and foster a culture where every voice matters. Our remote-first approach means you can work from anywhere in the U.S., with flexible hours that respect your personal life while ensuring collaboration across time zones.

We host quarterly virtual town halls, monthly hackathons, and informal “coffee chat” sessions to keep the team connected. Our internal communication tools—Slack, Zoom, Notion—are used to share knowledge, celebrate wins, and keep everyone aligned.

Compensation & Perks

  • Base Salary – Competitive market rate for remote Customer Success Engineers in the U.S.
  • Variable Pay – Performance‑based bonuses tied to renewals and expansion metrics.
  • Equity – 0.05% – 0.20% of the company, vesting over four years.
  • Benefits – Health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and a generous parental leave policy.
  • Remote Work Stipend – Monthly allowance for home office setup and internet.
