Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sciolex Corporation is a defense contractor providing systems engineering, technical support, and administrative assistance to the U.S. Government. The Data & AI Engineer will work across enterprise data, internal applications, automation, and AI-driven solutions to improve internal operations and knowledge accessibility. The role includes database management, AI solution prototyping, workflow automation, reporting support, troubleshooting, and stakeholder collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and optimize enterprise databases (Microsoft SQL Server)
- Build internal tools, workflows, automations, and lightweight applications to improve business operations
- Design and prototype AI-enabled solutions for internal knowledge access, search, summarization, and operational efficiency
- Enable intelligent retrieval and use of internal business information across structured and unstructured sources
- Support and improve internal reporting and data solutions as business needs evolve
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems and technical processes
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand problems and translate needs into practical technical solutions
Skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking
- Experience with software development (Python, C#, APIs, automation, or similar)
- Strong SQL and database fundamentals (SQL Server, relational design, querying)
- Experience working within a Microsoft-based environment
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and navigate open-ended technical problems
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, or intelligent systems
- Must be a U.S. citizen and physically located in the United States
- Experience experimenting with or building solutions using generative AI or LLMs
- Familiarity with document-based search, retrieval systems, or knowledge management concepts
- Experience building internal tools or automating business processes
- Familiarity working with unstructured information (documents, file systems, SharePoint content)
- Exposure to cloud platforms or Microsoft Azure
