Remote Position
[Remote] Director, Sales & Distribution
🌍 Remote · United States
💼 Full-time
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Emery Partners is hiring a distribution professional to build and manage the firm’s sales and distribution function for its registered fund, private fund series, and OCIO/Advisory program. The role owns prospecting, sales process and CRM development, marketing materials, and investor relations, working directly with the firm’s partners.
Responsibilities
- Design and document the firm's end-to-end distribution process: target segmentation, outreach cadence, meeting-to-diligence, platform onboarding, and close
- Define pipeline stages, conversion metrics, and reporting to the partners
- Identify and prioritize channels: primarily independent RIAs, multi-family and single-family offices, consultants, and wealth platforms
- Source, qualify, and work a pipeline of RIA and family office prospects
- Run outbound campaigns and coordinate meetings
- Prepare prospects for partner-led diligence meetings, and drive follow-up through to allocation. Eventually lead initial discovery meetings
- Represent the firm at industry conferences and RIA events
- Own the firm's CRM: data hygiene, contact and account structure, activity logging, pipeline and campaign tracking. Maintain dashboards
- Maintain pitch decks, fact sheets, one-pagers, DDQs, and quarterly commentary
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly data refreshes with fund operations
- Build prospect-specific comparisons against competing funds
- Serve as a primary contact for existing investors and their advisors
- Assist with investor onboarding
Skills
- 5–10 years in asset management distribution, with time as an internal wholesaler, crossover or IR associate at an established manager
- Direct experience with a structured institutional or intermediary sales process: territory planning, pipeline discipline, consultant, and platform due diligence
- Strong network among RIAs and familiarity with how they research, approve and allocate to alternatives
- Working command of a CRM system
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain a credit strategy clearly to an advisor in a 30-minute meeting
- Self-directed, results-oriented and entrepreneurial: comfortable without a large support team, defining your own priorities and building from a blank page
- Experience distributing private markets or private credit products, especially interval funds, tender offer funds, BDCs, or private LPs
- Familiarity with family offices, OCIOs, or consultant channels
- FINRA Series 7 or 6 and Series 63 (or willingness to obtain them promptly)
- Working knowledge of the SEC Marketing Rule and FINRA communications rules
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; comfort maintaining data-heavy materials
Benefits
- Discretionary annual bonus tied to individual and firm objectives
- Remote/Boston-based
