[Remote] DWTSurge Contract Real Estate Finance Attorney

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced real estate finance attorney for engagement through the firm’s alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected attorney will assist with commercial real estate financing, supporting lenders with various transactions, including affordable housing finance deals and projects involving low-income housing tax credits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial real estate financing, supporting lenders with various transactions, including affordable housing finance deals and projects involving low-income housing tax credits
• Work directly with DWT partners, client teams, and other stakeholders in support of the Firm’s clients
• Manage multiple matters with competing deadlines
• Work independently and be highly responsive
• Exercise good judgement
• Support Pacific Time Zone business hours

Skills

• Active bar admission in their state of residence and in a state where DWT maintains an office
• 4+ years of lender-side financing experience at a mid- to large- law firm, representing corporate clients, including major institutional banks
• Experience with complex financing transactions for the acquisition, development, refinance, and disposition of commercial properties
• Strong drafting skills and experience managing closing transactions to completion
• High-level of responsiveness and client service abilities
• Availability to work remotely for up to 20 hours per week and maintain PST business hours
• Flexibility for anticipated hours to fluctuate as needed
• Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to produce high quality work product with minimal supervision and direction
• Excellent proactive communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing with clients, firm members, and other business contacts
• Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to produce high quality work-product in a high-volume practice
• Experience with affordable housing
