[Remote] Generative AI & RAG Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Synectics for Management Decisions, Inc. is seeking a Generative AI & RAG Engineer to support the Coast Guard. The role builds secure agentic AI pipelines and LLM solutions for searching policy, legal, and operational catalogs, including RAG pipelines, autonomous agents, and secure API integrations.

Responsibilities

• Architect and fine-tune Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines over multi-thousand-page maritime regulatory documents
• Deploy autonomous AI agents inside secure guardrails to automate cross-referencing of legal, financial, and logistical catalogs
• Develop custom prompts, evaluate token efficiencies, and integrate secure APIs with GenAI.mil and platform-level infrastructure

Skills

• 4+ years developing production-grade NLP architectures and embedding models
• Deep experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus, Chroma) and framework toolkits like LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Clear understanding of LLM security vulnerabilities, prompt injection mitigation, and automated filtering safeguards
• Must be able to pass a federal background investigation prior to starting work and maintain eligibility throughout the engagement
• Government customer requires U.S. citizenship to work on the program
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
