[Remote] Machine Learning Engineer II

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Pinterest is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer II to build and improve machine learning systems that personalize its products. The role partners with teams across product areas to experiment with models, improve candidate retrieval, and apply deep learning and LLMs to recommendations and content understanding.

Responsibilities

• Build cutting edge technology using the latest advances in deep learning and machine learning to personalize Pinterest
• Partner closely with teams across Pinterest to experiment and improve ML models for various product surfaces (Homefeed, Ads, Growth, Shopping, and Search), while gaining knowledge of how ML works in different areas
• Use data driven methods and leverage the unique properties of our data to improve candidates’ retrieval
• Work in a high-impact environment with quick experimentation and product launches
• Keep up with industry trends in recommendation system
• Leverage LLMs to enhance content understanding

Skills

• Master's degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering (any field), or closely related quantitative discipline
• Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field
• Two years of experience in the following: (1) User Modeling; (2) Personalization; (3) Recommender Systems; (4) Search and Ranking; (5) Natural language processing; (6) Reinforcement Learning; (7) Graph Representation Learning; (8) Hands-on experience with building data processing pipelines; (9) Hadoop and Spark; (10) Retrieval Targeting; (11) Experience working using latest advances in with deep learning and machine learning; and (12) Experience in improving ML models for various product surfaces
• Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable
