[Remote] Manager of Systems Administration (Remote from anywhere in CO)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The State of Colorado is hiring a Manager of Systems Administration to lead a team delivering secure, efficient systems infrastructure operations and projects. The role oversees service operations and escalations across state agencies and OIT, aligns execution with strategic goals, and supports adoption of native and hybrid cloud strategies.

Responsibilities

• Assign tasks and support business-specific projects by applying subject-matter expertise and working with project and program managers to ensure all requested work has adequate resources assigned and allocated
• Create and execute plans to capitalize on strengths, address improvement opportunities, support team collaboration, and adapt to and learn from change, challenges, and feedback
• Supporting the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines
• Ensuring the team follows all procedures and policies
• Collaborate cross-functionally to make effective business decisions; solve complex problems; escalate high-priority issues or risks, as appropriate; and recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities
• Lead, assist, and support the adoption of Native and Hybrid Cloud strategies
• Actively engage in improving leadership skills, attitudes, and knowledge, especially as related to equity, diversity and inclusion. Attend training, development and group training on topics of inclusive leadership

Skills

• This recruitment is open only to current employees of the Office of Information Technology for the State of Colorado
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in any combination of server operations, network operations, IT Infrastructure engineering or directly comparable experience
• Experience must include at least one year of relevant experience performing at the Senior/Lead professional level
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in service delivery teams or directly comparable experience
• Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications
• There is no substitution for any required management experience
• Training or Certification related to the work assigned to the position will be assigned credit towards substitution for experience and/or education, but cannot completely substitute for these qualifications
• Experience with Amazon Web Services or similar cloud hosting solutions
• An Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner or SysOps Administrator Certification
• Experience with leading, driving, or championing enterprise change and innovation initiatives
