[Remote] Media & Marketing Writer Intern

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Our National Conversation (ONC) seeks to reduce partisanship and promote effective solutions through media and educational content. The Media & Marketing Writer Intern creates and edits concise content across department projects, including civic terminology posts, podcast descriptions, summaries, and promotional copy.

Responsibilities

• Write and revise short-form content for projects across the Media and Marketing Department
• Support Care to Converse content with concise copy, summaries, prompts, and promotional material
• Help develop Thursday Terminology posts that explain civic, political, and policy terms in accessible language
• Write and edit podcast episode descriptions, titles, summaries, and promotional copy for publishing platforms
• Adapt ideas and longer source material into short, engaging captions, scripts, blurbs, and audience-facing copy
• Proofread for clarity, grammar, tone, factual accuracy, and consistency with ONC’s mission
• Collaborate with team members, incorporate feedback, and meet agreed-upon deadlines

Skills

• Strong writing and editing skills, especially short-form writing
• Ability to summarize complex or lengthy information clearly while keeping it engaging
• Good judgment about tone, audience, accuracy, and nonpartisan communication
• Interest in media, marketing, civic engagement, public policy, or educational content
• Dependable communication and ability to work independently in a remote team
