Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Connection is hiring a Senior Microsoft Power BI Developer through its Technical Staffing division. The role develops and optimizes Power BI reports, dashboards, and governed data products using Microsoft Fabric to support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and paginated reports
- Build and maintain semantic models, DAX measures, relationships, hierarchies, and calculation groups
- Develop reports using Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, lakehouses, warehouses, and Direct Lake datasets
- Implement row-level and object-level security aligned with Entra ID and workspace governance
- Establish certified datasets, reusable semantic models, and reporting standards
- Optimize report performance, data refreshes, and capacity utilization
- Apply sensitivity labels and manage governed report distribution
- Integrate reporting solutions with Microsoft 365 and Teams as needed
- Support deployment pipelines, source control, and lifecycle management
- Maintain report documentation, data dictionaries, and user enablement materials
Skills
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S

- 6–8+ years of application development experience, including hands-on BI analytics and Power BI development
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and semantic modeling
- Experience with Power Query, dimensional modeling, and data transformation
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Direct Lake
- Knowledge of row-level security, object-level security, and workspace governance
- Experience with deployment pipelines, performance optimization, and certified datasets
- Strong data visualization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
