Why This Role Matters

As a Network Provider Data Analyst, you will be the guardian of our provider database—ensuring that every clinician, facility, and group is accurately represented in our systems. Your work directly impacts reimbursement accuracy, patient access, and the overall quality of care we deliver. In a remote setting, you’ll have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S., while still being an integral part of a high‑performing, cross‑functional team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the provider data repository for all network providers, ensuring 100% data integrity.
  • Verify that provider information—such as credentials, specialty, and billing codes—is accurate and compliant with payer requirements.
  • Review system updates and data loads to confirm that new provider entries are correctly reflected across all platforms.
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in data loads and collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to resolve them.
  • Provide hands‑on support for baseline provider data transactions that cannot be automated due to system limitations or data quality issues.
  • Conduct outreach to providers via phone, email, and fax to verify professional and facility details, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Document all provider changes meticulously in multiple databases and maintain audit trails for compliance purposes.
  • Research and compile provider group rosters in various formats (Word, Excel, PDF) to support data validation and reporting.
  • Review bulk provider submissions from group practices, confirming accuracy before data is loaded into the system.
  • Investigate data discrepancies, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • 1–2 years of experience in healthcare data management, provider data administration, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare provider networks, credentialing processes, and payer requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and data manipulation techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Outstanding organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills—both written and verbal—to interact with providers and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with provider data management systems (e.g., Athenahealth, Epic, or similar platforms).
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, CPT/HCPCS coding, and payer credentialing workflows.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks and data governance best practices.
  • Previous experience in a remote or distributed team setting.
  • Certifications in data management or healthcare informatics (e.g., CDMP, RHIA).

Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex data sets and identify patterns or anomalies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating multiple database systems and data‑entry tools.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and professional in all interactions with providers and internal teams.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment and quickly learn new processes or technologies.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with cross‑functional teams—IT, finance, clinical, and operations—to achieve shared goals.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Understand the impact of accurate provider data on patient experience and satisfaction.
