[Remote] PR Senior Account Manager

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Disrupt PR is hiring a PR Senior Account Manager to manage and execute media pitches and public relations campaigns for clients. The role involves client and media communications, coordinating interviews, and delivering media placements and account milestones.

Responsibilities

• Write, execute and send ~5 unique pitches per week to journalists and contacts
• Communicate directly with reporters, writers and bookers to coordinate and setup interviews
• Communicate directly with clients (client facing) and providing hands-on support on campaigns and client objectives
• Firm understanding of news cycle, editorial choices and news-jacking
• Reactive pitching to breaking and day-of news on behalf of your client(s)
• Manage projects, campaigns, objectives for the clients you oversee, adhering to timelines, deadlines and the scope of services we provide
• Deliver well ahead of deadlines and be forward thinking
• Understanding of the PR agency business model and the value of public relations
• Pivot quickly and proactively
• Display a great, positive attitude, and being open to feedback and suggestions
• Hit key milestones and KPI's for clients accounts

Skills

• You have a background that includes a minimum of 5+ years PR agency experience working as a publicist
• You excel at client service and have a high level of confidence in the work you perform
• You deeply understand the public relations industry, news cycle and the makings of a journalistic story
• You're proficient at pitching stories and are a highly organized person who can coordinate multiple projects and pitches effectively, accurately and proactively
• You're a self-motivated person who can work well independently while staying focused on the job at hand
• You have account management experience; speaking and communicating with clients as the main point of contact
• You have a significant roster of national and local media contacts including TV, digital and podcast
• You're a problem solver and think ahead to ensure any challenges don't greatly impact progress or outcomes
• Degree or equivalent background in Marketing, Communications/Journalism or Business
• Experience working in entrepreneurial, start-up fast-paced environments
• Technology savvy with the ability to jump into any software system and figure it out
• Nice to have: experience as a working journalist (print, digital or broadcast)
