Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. is hiring a Senior Accountant to support accounting for e-commerce expenses and related financial activities. The role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, close processes, controls, financial analysis, and collaboration on business initiatives and finance-related IT projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries related to e-commerce expenses, including utilities, marketing, supplies, payroll, and other expenses
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items
- Analyze expense results, identify trends and variances, and provide explanations to management
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities within established deadlines
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
- Support accrual calculations and validation of financial data from various source systems
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment of transactions and new business initiatives
- Supports and assists with finance related IT projects
- Provides accounting support for adhoc requests and new business activities
- Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management
- Follow legal policies as directed
