[Remote] Senior Legal Billing Specialist

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Henderson Scott US is recruiting for an unnamed leading national law firm. The Senior Billing Specialist will manage complex client billing accounts, coordinate with attorneys and finance teams, and support accurate, timely billing across domestic and international matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full billing cycle for a portfolio of complex domestic and international client accounts
• Review and edit prebills/proformas, ensuring billing information is accurate and complete
• Process billing adjustments, write-offs, transfers, and other account changes
• Finalize and distribute invoices in accordance with client billing guidelines and deadlines
• Manage electronic invoice submissions and research and resolve rejected invoices
• Prepare LEDES files and work across multiple e-billing platforms
• Review and maintain client billing guidelines and outside counsel requirements
• Prepare accruals, forecasts, and recurring billing and account reports
• Research billing discrepancies and resolve complex account issues
• Work directly with attorneys, finance teams, and other internal stakeholders to keep billing cycles moving efficiently
• Coordinate with international teams on global billing arrangements and client matters
• Serve as a resource for complex billing questions and provide guidance to less experienced team members
• Assist with training and process improvements across the billing function

Skills

• 5+ years of direct billing or client accounts experience
• Strong experience managing complex billing portfolios from prebill through final invoice
• Hands-on e-billing experience
• Experience with Elite or Aderant
• Familiarity with eBillingHub, BillBlast, or similar e-billing platforms
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with billing and financial data
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys and other senior stakeholders
• Ideally within a law firm
• Experience serving as a lead, mentor, or escalation point is preferred
• Exposure to international or global billing arrangements is a plus
• Strong preference for candidates residing in the Pacific or Mountain time zones
