[Remote] Senior Software QA Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Velocity Mortgage Capital is seeking a Senior Software QA Engineer to own quality for platforms supporting business-purpose loans. The role defines test strategy, builds automated testing and CI/CD validation, tests the loan lifecycle and integrations, and promotes quality practices across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the test strategy for web, mobile, API, and back-end systems, covering functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines so every release is validated automatically
• Review requirements and designs early, and partner with product managers and engineers to define acceptance criteria and catch defects before code is written
• Test the loan lifecycle end to end, including applications, underwriting rules, pricing, document handling, closing, funding, and servicing, along with the third-party integrations behind them
• Verify that systems meet the security, privacy, auditability, and regulatory requirements of the lending industry, including correct handling of PII and financial data
• Own release readiness: triage and prioritize defects, run regression and smoke testing, and give clear go or no-go recommendations
• Build and manage test data and environments that mirror real lending scenarios without exposing production data
• Track quality metrics such as defect escape rate, test coverage, and flaky test rate, and use them to improve how we build and ship
• Mentor engineers and QA team members, and promote testing best practices across teams
