Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Continental Properties is a dynamic real estate company seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its tax team in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The role plans, supervises, reviews, and completes tax compliance work for a multiple-entity private equity firm, including partnership filings, investor compliance, tax planning, audits, and multistate tax activities.
Responsibilities
- Review taxable income analysis, investor allocations, and tax forms prepared by third-party tax firm to ensure that accurate partnership tax documents are delivered and that we remain in compliance with federal, state, and local filing requirements
- Must be proficient with Form 1065 and Schedule K-1 filings. Experience with Form 1120S and Form 1040 would be appreciated, but not required
- Experience with real estate or other fund structures across multiple states is highly valued
- Complete investor projections and compliance work, including direct contact with outside investors
- Assist with tax planning, estimating and monitoring annual cash tax obligations
- Support federal and state audits and tax notices
- Oversee multiple state compliance work and prepare fixed asset accounts
- Research tax issues and correspond with governmental agencies
- Participate in special projects and strategic tax initiatives as assigned
Skills
- Must be proficient with Form 1065 and Schedule K-1 filings
- 3+ years of experience in partnership tax preparation with experience in real estate
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Strong Excel skills required
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency
- Experience with Form 1120S and Form 1040 would be appreciated
- Experience with real estate or other fund structures across multiple states is highly valued
- Experience with Power BI or 704(c) allocations
