[Remote] Software Development Group Manager

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Opus Inspection, Inc. is a software and electronic hardware-driven leader in automotive technology services focused on vehicle inspection solutions. The Software Development Group Manager manages a U.S.-based team of Software Engineers while contributing to software development, requirements definition, design, testing, documentation, integration, customer support, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage group members by assigning tasks, mentoring to ensure expected performance, and directing developers to be used in the most efficient manner possible
• Actively participate in software design reviews with development team and technical leads
• Generate considerable content to functional design specifications
• Generate accurate task breakdown and estimates
• Utilize configuration management and debugging tools
• Responsible for verification activities, which include system test, durability, and life-tests
• Create and update design and operational documentation
• Actively participate in the integration and installation of deliverables
• Report on progress and status of development to senior management
• Provide follow-on support and problem troubleshooting
• Other tasks as assigned

Skills

• Successful background in developing software for company's web-based or thick client applications
• Proven ability to assist in defining requirements and creating software design
• Desire to take on additional responsibility by managing performance of groups of developers
• WinForms, Web API, WebForms, SOAP, MVC, SPA Frameworks, RESTful services, etc
• C#/VB .NET, JavaScript
• GIT, Visual SourceSafe
