About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, trustworthy, self-disciplined, and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Research & Data Specialist to support our research and data operations in Lake County, Illinois. This position involves researching criminal and traffic court records, extracting relevant information from public databases and court terminals, and accurately transferring information into Excel spreadsheets and internal systems. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can work independently, maintain accuracy, and consistently meet daily and weekly productivity goals.
Key Responsibilities
Research criminal, DUI, traffic, and related court records in Lake County. Extract, review, and accurately enter information from court terminals, databases, and public records. Organize and maintain data using Microsoft Excel and the firm's proprietary research platform, The Arc. Verify information for accuracy, completeness, and duplicate records. Prepare research lists and reports supporting marketing and client outreach initiatives. Quickly review documents and identify relevant case information. Meet established daily and weekly research and productivity objectives. Maintain confidentiality and follow firm procedures and applicable regulations. Identify opportunities to improve research efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications. Ability to quickly review documents, extract information, and organize data. Self-disciplined, dependable, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to quickly learn new technology and research procedures. Experience in data entry, research, or administrative support preferred. Familiarity with court records or legal research is a plus. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable. Schedule & Compensation Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM.
